The Book Entitled Intermediate Accounting , 2018 edition written by Zeus

Vernon B. Millan under the book of Accounting and business was based on Philippine
Financial Reporting Standards (PFRSs).

The Book is intended for students taking up the subject. “Intermediate

Accounting” in the new curriculum particularly for the accountancy student.
The basic aims to give book introduction topic like asset, liabilities, and preparing
Financial Statements, Recording Accounting information and Adjustments to
Account. The book is divided into Four parts, Intermediate Accounting Part 1A-
current assets, Intermediate Accounting part 1B- Non-current asset, Intermediate
Accounting Part 2-liabilities and stockholders Equity and lastly, Intermediate
Accounting Part 3- Financial Statement Presentation and PFRS for SME’s (Small &
Medium sized enterprises.

The Author written this Book with the following goals in mind, completeness,
conciseness, simplicity fun to learn and practical application.
The Great thing about this Book is that it is simply written and has lots of
questions and answers at the end of each chapter. It is absolutely preferred for
someone who is studying accounting as a non-core or if your struggling with bigger
and more comprehensive text.
Intermediate Accounting Part 2 is the Book after the Intermediate Part 1 and
also published in the same year 2018.

I like this Book on the Organized Arrangement on each topic particularly it

started from chapter 23 to chapter 37. The most interesting part is every details was
explain and analyze in a simple terminologies followed by more explanation.

I was also impressed in the summary of each chapter because it is

understandable and what your read is what you see. The author simplified it to the
highest possible extent. I was amazed on how he wrote the Book in a way that every
student will understand it specially those who find Accounting Book as difficult to
read, with this book they can easily understand the lesson.

Every chapter has a problem to be solved but I’d noticed that some of the
problem was not explained in the given example illustrated in the problem of each
chapter, but I find it difficult for some Readers. Particularly the beginners because it
is different to what they have reed and some are nothing to be seen at all.
Overall, Intermediate Accounting is one of the excellent books for the student
and it has all the topics needed for the new curriculum of Accountancy. Also this
book is more complete and accurate compilation of lessons including Assets,
Liabilities, Equities and Financial Statement Presentation that will help the students
on their chosen degree.

I am glad to recommend this book for the future students and readers. This
book is well worth-reading for its powerful ideas, imbued with basic analyzation and
simple explanation.
