Topic: Some high schools require all students to wear school uniforms.

Other high
schools permit students to decide what to wear to school. Which of these two school
policies do you think is better?

Essay:

Some people believe that students should wear a specific set of outfits to schools while
others are convinced that they should be given the freedom to choose what to wear. I
personally think that the former is better and will discuss the reasons why in this essay.

Firstly, having a policy in regards to a specular costume can create an effective and
equal learning environment. Dress codes can reduce distraction, allowing students to
focus more on their academics and less on competition and peer pressure associated
with keeping the latest fashion trends. Uniforms also simplify the clothing selection
process, making getting dressed in the mornings a whole faster and easier. Moreover,
when the students are dressed uniformly, it is hard to figure out their socioeconomic
status, which can reduce the opportunity for rich kids to bully and discriminate against
the poor ones based on their clothing.

Secondly, wearing a school uniform enable students to improve their discipline. To

begin with, students who wear a uniform can be prepared for their future jobs, where
they will likely adhere to work-related dress codes. They can also learn lessons in
responsibility as there are normally consequences associated to dress code violations.
Furthermore, students are perceived to have a more positive attitude and demeanor
when they are in uniform. A recent survey has shown that those wearing a uniform tend
to show greater respect for authority and order, thereby creating an environment in
which potential conflict can be reduced.

In conclusion, it is the finest choice to wear a specific costume at an institute because it

can create an atmosphere of equality and maintain students’ discipline.
