Concept Design Narrative

The concept of Central General Hospital borrows from the innate character of nature. Observing the
topography of location, it’s surrounded by mountains and perpendicular to the sea. Relationship to our
design, we create an environmental connection between the patient and the structure by designing an
inner central landscape that serves as a waiting area. It’s affect psychologically to the patient because it
lower the patients fear pressure when entering a hospital. And additional purpose of central
garden/waiting area is to orient the building toward centre to give the patient something to look into
and for the people not getting lost.

We focus our design to promote a healthy community by creating a recreational area adjacent to the
building. To let people come not just only for operational purposes but to let them visit the hospital to
exercise here in mornings and evenings. Surrounded by greenery area to feel less anxious while waiting
for your loved ones, we delivering the slice of greenery up to walls as well to minimize the heat.

In this era, we are facing a pandemic situation where hospitals are fearful place to be. In line with the
situation, we design a segregated ward for infectious disease to eliminate the threat of spreading the
virus inside the facility. A facility where have an independent working station, corridors, and emergency
right-of-way.
