Exercise 8: Swept Boss Base

1. Start a Part file in Solidworks.


2. Create a sketch on the front plane and draw the following figure.

3. Exit the sketch

Using the reference geometry toolbar, create a plane normal to one of the
lines of the previous sketch.

4. Select the plane tool located in the reference geometry toolbar.

5. From the properties manger of the plane located at the left side of the
screen, select “normal to.”

6. Select one of the lines from the previous sketch by clicking the line.
A new plane should be created perpendicular or normal to the line

7. Create a sketch at the created plane and draw the following figure.

8. Exit the sketch

9. Select the swept boss base icon located at the command manager at its features mode.
10. Select the second sketch for the profile.

11. Select the first sketch for the path.

A preview of the model should already appear.

12. Click the check button

The model should look like the following.
