Configuration guide AS2 adapter
Use
AS2 adapter is used to transport data securely and reliably over the Internet. Security is achieved by
using digital certificates and encryption. The Applicability Statement 2 is a protocol is used to transport
data securely and reliably over the Internet, based on HTTP and S/MIME. The partners are always
connected via the tried and tested HTTP protocol. The AS2 process is a clear choice thanks to its
effective firewall administration capability, signature, encryption, return receipt and rapid response
times.
You use this procedure to configure the AS2 adapter in the sender and receiver channels.
Prerequisites
• You have deployed the AS2 adapter in the SAP Process Integration environment.
• You must have logged in to the Integration Directory using the Integration Builder.
• You have created a Communication Channel in the Integration Directory.
• You have entered AS2 in the Adapter Type field in the Parameter section.
Procedure
1. Configure the sender channel to enable sending of messages between business partners.
For more information, see Configure the Sender Channel.
2. Configure the receiver channel to enable receiving of messages between business partners.
For more information, see Configure the Receiver Channel.
Prerequisites
You have selected Sender Radio button in the Parameter section of the Integration Builder.

Additional Information
Application Check
1. Open Internet explorer browser (do not use other browsers) and then load
http://<hostname>:<port>/nwa/start-stop.
This will load the Start & Stop: Java Instances page
2. Go to Java Applications tab. Let the NWA load all applications.
3. Filter the application name with keyword ‘AS2’.
4. The entry com.sap.aii.adapter.as2.app should exist
5. If any application is stopped (due to Lazy startup mode), start the application by selecting the
application & clicking the Start button. It’s expected that the application starts successfully.
