c. solve real life problems by using the formula of phytagorean triples.

1. What is the measure of the hypotenuse(c) if (a)=8cm and (b)=6cm?

Sol’n:
c 2 = a 2 + b2
c2 = 82 + 62
c2 = 64 + 36
c2 = 100 , take the square root of both sides
c = 10

c 2 = a 2 + b2
c 2 = 6 2 + 42
c2 = 36 + 16
c2 = 52 , take the square root of both sides
