In order to be stored and transported economically chlorine has to be liquefied. Liquid

chlorine is filled in cylinders and tonners. Cylinders are seamless/welded construction
with a capacity not more than 100 kgs and manufactured as per IS 3196,IS 7681 .Tonner is
a welded tank with a capacity of 900-100kgsand manufactured as perIS 2825/ASME
SECTION VIII DIV I /PD 5500
A cylinder has one valve at the top for the withdrawal of liquid or gas.
Cylinder delivers gas when in upright position and liquid chlorine in
downward position. Cover hood is provided for the protection of valve
