If there is anything you do not understand or there are any mistakes, please, send

As you can see in the way I write, English is not my first language. So, you could
come across some mistakes and grammatical inconsistencies. Sorry and my
apologies!

I love crocheted dolls. I like to take my time and to put every little detail that would
make the doll different from her sisters.
This time I spent 4 years with this doll: I crocheted the doll, then I didn’t like the
head, I decided to leave it for some time. One year ago I frogged the head and
crocheted it again. I liked it. Then, the most difficult part for me: the hair … Another
gap year … Finally I knew how I wanted the doll to look like. And that is why the
pattern is finally here.

ABOUT YARN:
Yarn:
 Natura Just Cotton DMC: 50gr, 155m
You will need 2 yellow skeins and 2 black skeins.

ABOUT GAUGE:
It is not important, as far as you are consistent with your tension.

ABOUT HOOK:
It depends on the yarn. I’ve used a 2.25 mm hook for the doll and a 2.5-2.75 mm
for the hair.
Remember that when making amigurumis, stitches should be tight. Although with
this furry yarn, this is not a concern.

YOU WILL NEED:

 Yarn.
 Two sets of oval eyes. I bought mine at:
 Stuffing.
 Tapestry needle.
 Some white tulle for the wings.

ABOUT CROCHET TERMS:

I’ve followed the US terminology.
Stitch: st
Chain: ch
Slip stitch: sl st
Single crochet: sc
FLO: Front Loop Only
BLO: Back Loop Only
Sc2tog: decreasing two sc (i.e., 2 st become 1)

WINGS

The wings are the only no-crochet part of the doll. I’ve used some white tulle. The
pattern is at the end of the file. I’ve copied a real bee wing. The size is the real one
my doll has.

I’ve folded the tulle several times and placed the pattern on top. Cut following the
shape, place at the back of the doll and sew. I’ve got 10 layers.

HANDS AND ARMS

(make 2)
Using yellow.
Stuff arms as you go.

Ch 10, sl st in 1st.
Round 1: work 10sc in the 10ch of foundation chain.
Round 2: four increases: 14sts
Round3-34: 14sc
Round 35: the fingers are crocheted: {[ch 7 and sc in 2ch from hk and in next 5ch]
sl st through both thicknesses of the arm, sl st in next st} repeat 4 times, [ch
5 and sc in 2ch from hk and in next 3ch], sl st in arm.
(4 fingers and 1 thumb. As we work through both thicknesses we have 7sts to
consider, so the last finger cannot have the sl st in next st, adjust and join at
the border).

FEET and LEGS

(make 2)
Using black.
Stuff foot and leg as you go.

Round 1: magic ring, 6 sc (alternatively, 2 ch and 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook).

Round 2: 2sc in next 6 st, (12 sts)
Round 3: [2sc in next st, sc in next 1st] repeat 6 times (18st)
Round 4: [2sc in next st, sc in next 2st] repeat 6 times (24st)
Round 5: [2sc in next st, sc in next 3st] repeat 6 times (30st)
Rounds 6-7: 30 sts
Round 8: 30 sts working in BLO.
Round 9: [sc2tog, sc in next 3st] repeat 6 times (24st)
Round 10: [sc2tog, sc in next 2st] repeat 6 times (18st)
Round 11: (if desired place the strings of the shoes here): [40ch, sl st in 2nd ch from
hk and in remaining sts, sl st in sc of the shoe], sc in next 3sts, [40ch, sl st in
2nd ch from hk and in remaining sts, sl st in sc of the shoe], sc in remaining
sts (18sts).
Round 12: change to yellow. Sc in every st (18sts)
Round 13-52: 18 sts (40 rows)
Fasten off the first leg, and do not fasten off the second and go on to BODY.

BODY
Stuff body as you go
We are joining the two legs. Place the shoe laces at the back, well they are not
shoe laces, they are the strings for the ballerina shoes. 
Round 1: sc along both legs (36 sts)

It doesn’t matter where is the beginning of the round. We work following the arrow.
Once you have the 36 sts, that is you have joined the two legs together, work as
many sts as required to place you at the back (as we are going to change colors
quite frequently, I thinks it’s better to hide it at the back).
I’ve worked in spiral, so the color changes are more visible. If you prefer you can
work the body in rounds, but joining at the beginning: the color changes will be less
visible.

Round 2: (12 increases) [2sc, sc in next 2sts] repeat 12 times (48 sts)
Round 3: [2sc in next st, sc in next 6st] repeat 7 times (54st)
Round 4: change to black. [2sc in next st, sc in next 8st] repeat 6 times (60st)
Round 5-6: 60sts
Round 7: change to yellow. 60st
Round 8-9: 60sts
Round 10: change to black. 60st
Round 11-12: 60sts
Round 13: change to yellow. 60st
Round 14-15: 60sts
Round 16: change to black. 60st
Round 17-18: 60sts
Round 19: change to yellow. 60st
Round 20-21: 60sts
Round 22: change to black. Four decreases: [sc2tog, sc in 13sts] repeat 4 times
(56sts)
Round 23-24: 56sts.
Round 25: change to yellow. Four decreases: [sc2tog, sc in 12sts] repeat 4 times
(52sts)
Round 26-27: 52sts.
Round 28: change to black. Four decreases: [sc2tog, sc in 11sts] repeat 4 times
(48sts)
Round 29-30: 48sts.
Round 31: change to yellow. Four decreases: [sc2tog, sc in 10sts] repeat 4 times
(44sts)
Round 32-33: 44sts
Round 34: change to black. Two decreases: [sc2tog, sc in 20sts] repeat 2 times
(42sts)
Round 35-36: 42sts.
Round 37: change to yellow. [sc2tog, sc in next 5st] repeat 6 times (36st)
Round 38: JOIN ARMS. (If you have downloaded any of my previous patterns, you
know that I like to join arms and legs as I crochet. If preferred they can be
sewn later on). Depending on where yoor round begin, you have to adjust
the number of stitches; the only important thing is to place the arms
centered and be careful with the thumb! In my case: 6sc, join arm (working
through both thicknesses) sc in next 4sts, 12 sc, join second arm in the
same way, sc in remaining sts (36sts)
Round 39: 36sc
Round 40: change to black. 6 decreases: [sc2tog, sc in 4sts] repeat 6 times (30sts)
Round 41: [sc2tog, sc in next 3st] repeat 6 times (24st)
Round 42: [sc2tog, sc in next 2st] repeat 6 times (18st)
Round 43: change to yellow. 18sts.
Go on to neck and head:

NECK AND HEAD

(go on from previous round of the body)
Round 1-2: 18sc
(From next round onwards we are working the head. If desired place something
rigid at the neck because the head is quite heavy and will bend to the sides).

Round 3: [2sc in next st, sc in next 1st] repeat 6 times (18st)

Round 4: [2sc in next st, sc in next 2st] repeat 6 times (24st)

Round 32: [sc2tog, sc in next 13st] repeat 6 times (84st)
Round 33: [sc2tog, sc in next 12st] repeat 6 times (78st)
COMMENT: I changed to black here and worked all the remaining rounds in
BLACK and in BLO (I found easier to sew the hair using the unworked
loops)
Remember to stuff as you go.

Eyes should be placed at some point.

Mouth should be embroider and if desired also the nose.

Round 34: [sc2tog, sc in next 11st] repeat 6 times (72st)
