IJrstructions for Microsoft TeAms

Dear Students.

In order to maintain the academic schedule during the COVID-19 Pandemic situation, IITM will
be conducting online classes for all Courses on Microsoft Team Platform from 17-09-2020.

The entire control of the virtual classroom will be with the faculty only. To avoid any
disturbance during the lesson, the students should strictly keep their microphones muted.
The entire class shall be recorded and action will be taken against any misconduct of the
students.

To minimize any technical problems, kindly login five minutes befbre the scheduled time. The
login id and password u,ill be sending to your email id. aller the first log in. please change the
passrvord and whatever password you are going to use please remember it because it will be your
responsibitity then. IITN,{ will not provide another I'd. We wish each one of you a happy learning
experience.

An Explanation of Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a learning management system where students can work closely with
teachers and fellow stLrclents to communicate and work on assignments online. From posting
assignments to holding study sessions. A team offers a host of features to enhance their
education. While we are sad that this current situation is keeping students out of our buildings,
we are happy to have such a powerful tool to keep our teachers and students (and parents)
connected.

How to Access Teams

l. In your Internct browser of choice, type http://teams.rnicrosoft.com in the addressiURl

bar and hit Enter. (Note: If using an Apple Computer, you will need to download the
free app.)

2. You should come to a sign in screen. Type your email address and then click 'Next'.
3. Once you are Iogged in, Teams will load the dashboard showing your classes. It will look
sornething like the image below.
