Dear Parents,

Digital Detox: 
At our Board of Management meeting last evening the Chairperson, Adrian Fitzgerald,
mentioned that some of the schools in Monaghan were introducing a 'Digital Detox' day. 
This is a day when the children ( and their parents) would get a break from screens and from
the work that is being sent home and completed by children and parents all over Monaghan. 
This day is also a chance for pupils and parents to 'recharge their batteries'. 
The Board of Management thought this was a good suggestion and would give parents and
children a break from the usual routine. 
We are going to implement our 'Digital Detox' day this Friday 12th February. 
It is also worth telling you that the Board acknowledged the great teamwork that exists
between teachers, parents and pupils as we try to make the best of teaching and learning
remotely. 
I hope the pupils and their parents enjoy their Digital Detox day on Friday. 

Enrolment: 
At this time of the year we would normally be getting ready for our enrolment week and
sending home leaflets and signs; as well as having our Open Days where potential pupils
look around our school. 
Obviously, this won't be happening this year. 
We are, however, asking parents to spread the word. 
If you know anyone with a child of school going age, who may be considering St. Michael's
as a school, please ask them to contact me at this email address and I will arrange to ring them
and chat. 
If you would like a leaflet about our school I can email one out to you, or post some for you
to pass on to anyone you think might be interested. 
We will have an advertisement in the Northern Standard next week letting the community
know that we are open for enrollments. 

Mid Term Break: 

Next Thursday and Friday will be our mid-term break and so teachers will not be preparing or
correcting work on those two days.
