The working principle of the tank is to separate Benzene, Toluene and Phenol, from

the main gas stream inlet which is a mixture of diphenyl eter biphenyl (DEB). For
this purpse, the gas DEB (stream 1) is injected into the tank from a diffuser
installed in the bottom. The tank has a 50% level of DEB in liquid state, so the
gas DEB will diffuse into the liquid DEB. It is intented to clean the gas with a
stream of DEB liquid (stream 5). The clean gas will be vented from the top of the
tank (stream 6). HOWEVER, it is believed that the stream 5 is reabsorbing part of
the Benzene, Toluene and Phenol, and contaminating the system as it flows through
stream 2
