Emirates Airlines

Emirates, is an airline Company based in UAE. It is subsidiary of The Emirates Group and
owned by the government of UAE.

Before explaining organizational structure of Emirates, let’s first discuss types of

organizational structure which better help in identification of Emirates organizational
structure.

Types of organizational structure

Organizational structure of UAE is comprised of basic three major structures

Functional structure:

Functional structure is most common type of business structure followed by most of the
organization in UAE. In functional structure organization is divided into various departments
like HR department, marketing department, research and development department etc.

Divisional structure:

Divisional structure is different from functional structure. In divisional structure, people are
not grouping according to their skills rather they distributes across the organization where the
need is arises.

Matrix structure:

The third and last type of organizational structure is matrix structure that is combination of
functional structure and matrix structure. In this structure, people from different areas are
grouped together to perform a specific task.

Emirates organizational structure

Organizational structure followed by Emirates, UAE is hierarchal structure that consist

multiple layers of management.
