LYING
"It was just a little white lie, but I still wish I hadn't told it ". That is one of the
famous phrases that provokes lying. Lying is so powerful and persistent in
culture because it finds its strongest root in the basic drives of the human
being: pleasure, love and hate.
A real case I had was when I went with a friend to a party, when we arrived he
met another friend of his, with whom he had a long conversation, the guy
apparently looked wise and very mature, until he advised my friend saying:
"Look man, you can have all the mistresses you want, but you have to be very
careful. You have to become an expert at lying to your girlfriend so she doesn't
find out. That's how I've done it for years and I'm happily married.
After that, a month later, I found out that my friend had several problems with
his girlfriend and they ended up because he had been unfaithful. This shocked
me a lot, as he was a close friend and I learned the lesson that a lie will always
be discovered.
