Good to know
Updates to Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GTX
- The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GTX is the newest addition to the iconic Pegasus line of shoes
from Nike. This neutral running shoe is the waterproof version of the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail.
- The Gore-Tex® upper offers a balance of breathability and durability. Its weatherized design equipped
the shoe to withstand wet conditions and tough terrain.

- Providing a soft and responsive ride is the premium cushioning material. This lightweight midsole
foam creates a push-off effect while running, providing a more energetic ride.

- Responsible for providing multi-surface traction is the durable rubber compound incorporated in the
outsole unit. This component makes the shoe faster.

Size and fit
The Nike Pegasus 36 Trail GTX was designed using the standard running shoe
measurements. Consumers can buy the shoe in their usual size preference. However, it
is mentionable that some reviewers felt that the toe box is a bit narrow.

The traditional lacing system, Gore-Tex® invisible fit, inner sock, and padded tongue
affect the fit by providing a comfortable in-shoe feel.

Outsole

The outsole of the Nike Pegasus 36 Trail GTX is made up of a highly durable rubber
compound, which makes trail running faster and effortless. The outsole also includes an
aggressive lug pattern that gives a stable and smooth ride. It also offers maximum
traction on rocky, buffed, and dirt trails.

Integrated on the lateral side of the outsole is the rubber crash rail that encourages a
smooth transition from heel strike through toe-off. This component also enhances the
outsole’s flexibility.

Midsole
Premium Cushlon ST foam serves as the main midsole, providing a soft and springy
platform. This lightweight material is composed of Phylon and rubber additives. It helps
attenuate shock impact, sparing the joints as the runner strikes down onto hard
surfaces.

Positioned beneath the forefoot and heel are the two Zoom Air units that offer reliable
protection and responsive cushioning. Zoom air is made up of tightly stretched tensile
fibers. Every time the runner’s foot touches down, the fibers compress to absorb the
impact and spring back to their original shape. Zoom Air is also featured in the Nike Air
Zoom Wildhorse 5 and Nike Air Zoom Winflo 6.

Upper
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GTX uses the Gore-Tex® invisible fit construction.
This component is incorporated into the upper to help reduce pressure points, noise, and
wrinkles. It also provides a snugger fit and lightweight running experience.

The mesh upper is waterproof and highly durable. It is not as breathable as the Nike Air
Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail but enough to keep the foot dry and warm. The upper securely
wraps around the foot, providing a distraction-free ride.

This Nike trail running shoe has an inner sock that connects the padded tongue to the
forefoot area, providing a slipper-like fit. The tongue helps prevent debris and small rocks
from coming between the foot and shoe walls.

The traditional lacing system and overlays around eyelets are working together to
provide a secure, locked-down fit. Reflective detailings are also added to provide
additional protection while running at night.
