EVIDENCES OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS

ACTIVITY 1: Photosynthesis and Carbon Dioxide

a. Label 2 test tubes with A and B respectively.

b. Using a drinking straw, blow air into test tube A.
c. Insert two to three small leaves into the test tubes gently. Do not compress the leaves because they won’t
be able to absorb adequate carbon dioxide.
d. Cover both test tubes with rubber stopper.
e. Place both tubes on a test tube rack and put them under a light source for 5 minutes.
f. After 5 minutes, get the test tubes and bring them back to your working area.
g. Add 5 ml of lime water to each test tube and cover with rubber stopper.
h. Shake well. Observe what happens to the contents of the two test tubes and write your observations in
the table below.
