1 introduction

Communication is defined as a process by which we assign and convey

meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. This process requires a
vast repertoire of skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening,
observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, and evaluating.

Use of these processes is developmental and transfers to all areas of life:

home, school, community, work, and beyond. It is through communication that
collaboration and cooperation occur...

Communication play very essential role when someone enters in a completely

new culture. Now a day’s students from different corner of the world migrate
towards India for education. In India, institutes provides best fusion
environment because it consists both pure as well as ultra modern
environment...

Here is a case of a group of students from USA, visiting our campus, and our
efforts to make them understand our institutional environment and
students..........
1. Introduction to culture of our
institute.

As far as Indian culture is concern, Indians hospitality is unique in the

world. We must treat this group with great care......

When they will reach to airport we will arrange a car to pick them up
to our institute. Then we will show them our campus after that we will
drop them to their suitable hotel, so they rest and take their time to
set in our timings.

 Orientation program
 Second day we will have small orientation for them where we will
welcome them with flowers and tilak on forehead, we will introduce
them with director and faculty members of our institute, and also
aware them with our activities and schedule, lecture timings, guest
lectures, projects.
 We will arrange small exhibition about history mission and vision of
institute for them.
 Then we will show videos and photographs of our campus life to give
them brief idea about students and activities.
 After orientation we will organize lunch for them where they can
interact with students and teachers.
 Class activity
 In this activity we will do get-together of this group and with our class
mates and we will arrange small discussion about each other’s life,
Indore games will also there for their entertainment and make them
comfortable with class.
 We also teach them few words of regional language for their better
understanding and communication.
 Nonverbal communication pays important role when we don’t know
language, Mostly they will have to use non verbal communication
because that can be effective to understand what they want to convey,
we will teach them some nonverbal massages and how to convey it.

 Co curricular activity

we have many activity in class though out a year, like sport activity, cultural
festival, yoga and meditation camp, etc. we will encourage them to take part
in such activities, and also arrange special session for them.

 sports activity

We play different games in our institute; we will also encourage them to

take part in interclass cricket competition.

 Social activity

We often arrange a visit to orphanage and old age homes and village; we will
also involve them in this activity.

 Cultural activity

In this activity we will introduce them with different festivals celebrated in

India throughout a year,
As they will come during festival of navratri, which we celebrate in our
campus, we will take them to that event with traditional dress for garba.

After our schedule in institute we will take them for site seeing. We will take
them heritage places and temples.

And at night we will take them to good Indian food restaurants, for delicious
food.

 feedback
At the end of two weeks we will ask Feedback about our institute, its
culture, environment and activity and if they satisfy or not by our
efforts.
1. Rules they have to follow
Discipline is backbone of each and every successful institute,
And this discipline must followed by some rules and regulations. If
someone breaks any rule then he will be either warned or punished.

 Dress code
Hear they must have to wear decent formal clothes which respect and value
Indian culture and tradition.

 timing
Here we have regular class timings every day from morning to evening with
fixed schedule and session plane, so they must have to follow our timings.
Here we have compulsory attendance so they can’t bunk the class for Co
curricular activity.

 language
In foreign institute student addresses teacher and students with only their
first name, but India we address our faculty and seniors with respect. This
group member must respect our faculty and seniors.

 Behavioural aspects
Hear they have to take permission of the professor while entering and
leaving the class

They should keep in mind that they can’t eat and drink in lecture, behave
very politely with faculty.
1. Problems if they disregard this
group
It’s our responsibility to handle them, so as host we will bind them
with proper rules and regulations. But if they don’t follow rules then.......

 If they don’t agree with some our rules they might not follow it.
 They might face problem due to language barrier.
 They might loose respect from the faculty if they don’t follow them
 Student might not interact with them properly.
 Others will not give respect and will not interact with them.
 And if they disregard and do not follow rules, they should be punished
and some time if some major occurs they should be detained from
institute.

Conclusion: By this way we will try to communicate with them, make

them comfortable with institute cultural environment and we will provide
them proper hospitality.
