Dear Students,

Welcome to Literature for the Ages! I look forward to getting to know each of you
through our various discussions and activities. You will get to know your classmates
this way as well! As an online student, you will be responsible for logging in frequently
to keep up with assignments and due dates. I am here to help guide you through our
lessons and answer questions so let’s keep the lines of communication open through
email (carrie.kagan@gmail.com) as well as through the “Ask a Question” forum found
in every module.

For our Introductory Module, you are responsible for becoming familiar with our course
Syllabus. This is an essential resource for all of our class activities. It explains the
expectations for your participation throughout our many class elements. Please review
it carefully and feel free to ask questions for clarification.

After the first introductory week, we will be working in 2-week Modules. This allows
time for reading, participation in discussions, and completion of assignments. Each
module outlines a schedule for reading and due dates for assignments. The
"mini-lecture" will present new information that will be needed for the module's
activities, so it's best to begin with this link. If a course reading is required, the link will
be posted in the module. Our course Blog is found in a block to the right of our
coursework. Remember to go to this side block to contribute to the Blog. We will have
a variety of activities and assignments throughout the year. Always feel free to "Ask a
Question" when you need assistance!

Looking forward to a wonderful year of literary exploration and insights!

Mrs. Kagan
