BROCK® Bolt-On Manhole

NOTE: Metric measurements are in millimeters and italic square parentheses

following the English measurement.

Manhole Roof Panel

Install the Manhole Roof Panel last. Both ribs go on top of the ribs of the adjoining
Roof Panels.

Bolt-On Manhole Installation to a Standard Roof Panel

1. Locate the Collar on a Roof Panel so the vertical outside face of the Collar is
2 1/4" [57.2] from the base of the Roof rib. The bottom of the cutout area should
be 3 3/4" [95.3] up from the center line connecting the Roof Anchor Bolt holes.
2. Drill an 11/32" [8.7] diameter hole through the top and bottom of the Collar
flange and through the Roof Panel. Temporarily bolt the Collar to the Roof Panel.
3. Drill 11/32" [8.7] diameter holes around the Collar in the Flange and through
Roof Panel approximately 3" [76.2] apart from center-to-center.
4. On the Roof Panel, mark a line 1/2" [12.7] inside the Collar. Remove Collar and
cut out the opening along the marked line.
5. Caulk the underside of Collar Flange and bolt the Collar to Roof Panel using
5/16 x 1" Plastic Head Bolts and 5/16" Hex Nuts.
6. Hammer the 1/2" [12.7] edge up inside the Collar to stiffen the Panel and form
an extra barrier against moisture.
7. Clean off excess Caulking.
8. Follow Steps 1-6 on pages 4-5 for Lid, Hinge, and Latch assembly.

to the Lid (right side) with 5/16 x 3/4'' HHBS Bolts
(Item 21), heads underneath, and a Hex Nut (Item 15) 5
above. See Figure 5. Finger-tighten.
For the Hinge without Springs, use a 3/4'' (Item 14)
Bolt here.
3. On the Collar, position the (2) LOWER Hinges as 3
4
shown in Figure 6. Bolt through the Collar with (2) 5/
16 x 1'' HHBS Bolts (Item 21, heads inside), and Hex
Nuts (Item 15) outside. Repeat for the second Hinge

(Item 10) over the two (2) Lower 12
Hinge Bolts and Nuts on the Collar.
Insert the shorter rod down through
the front corner hole*
in the Bracket.
The Lower Bracket can be used to
provide the grip needed on the shorter
