In Bangladesh the importance of auditing and consultancy services increasing day by day.
Bangladesh’s economy growing in a rapid speed day by day. People becoming solvent and
that’s why they are becoming interested in investing share market and also becoming an
entrepreneur. In this situation the services provided by the audit and consultancy firm could
become very helpful for those investors or entrepreneur. Cause having enough capital or
money is not enough for present competitive business world. If one is not expert in the related
field of business in which s/he want to invest them s/he have the probability of failure and
losing all his/her investment. This also a threat for economic stability. So, in this situation

Chapter – 1: Introduction

Auditing is defined as the on-site verification activity, such as inspection or examination, of a


process or quality system, to ensure compliance to requirements. An audit can apply to an entire
organization or might be specific to a function, process, or production step. Some audits have
special administrative purposes, such as auditing documents, risk, or performance, or following
up on completed corrective actions.
One the other hand, a consulting firm or simply consultancy is a professional service firm that
provides expert advice for a fee. Consulting firms may have one employee or thousands; they
may consult in broad range of domains, for example, management, engineering, and so on.
Management consultants, in particular, typically work with company executives and provide
them with generalists and industry-specific specialists, known as subject-matter experts,
usually trained in management or business schools. The deliverable of a management
consultant is usually recommendations for achieving a company objective, leading to a
company project.

What does an Audit Firm do?


A company that reviews activities to identify inefficiencies, reduce costs, and otherwise
achieve organizational objectives. Auditing firms may investigate potential theft or fraud and
ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies. They also help to ensure the
accuracy of reports.

Reason behind heiring consultants/ Why client hire consultants?

One of the defining features of a consultant suggests that clients hire consultants because they
possess a knowledge advantage. In the overlarge majority of cases this is the main reason; a
