DOWSIL™ Q2-3238 Dispersible Silicone Additive

High molecular weight silicone dispersion

Applications • As an additive it is often compatible with acrylics and polyurethanes.

• Improves softness, and wear resistance.
• Dispersible in both water and solvent systems. Suitable solvents include alcohols,
glycols and dimethyl formamide.

How To Use Addition levels of DOWSIL™ Q2-3238 Dispersible Silicone Additive into leather finishes can
vary from 0.5 to 4.0% percent depending on the desired properties. As a slip agent, often
0.5% is sufficient.

Due to the high consistency of DOWSIL Q2-3238 Additive it is strongly recommended to

make a masterbatch of 40% DOWSIL Q2-3238 Additive with 60% of the dilution solvent in
order to avoid lumps in the final product. The solvent should be added slowly to the paste-
like material under vigorous mixing.

Usable Life And When stored between 10°C (50°F) and 40°C (104°F) in the original unopened containers,
Storage this product has a usable life of 9 months from the date of production.

Packaging This product is available in 15.8 kg pails and 181.4 kg drums.

Limitations This product is neither tested nor represented as suitable for medical or pharmaceutical
uses.
