Lord Arthur Savile's Crime

The story took place in London, in the nineteenth century.

Lord Arthur Savile was a young man belonging to the English nobility,
engaged with a woman, Sybil, whom he was going to get married.

During a reception at Lady Windermere's, a cheiromantist, invited by

those presents, began to tell their hands, gaining their confidence.
Also Lord Arthur's hand was told, but the cheiromantist refused to tell
in public what he discovered. Soon after, he told Lord Arthur that he
would murder somebody.

Lord Arthur was upset. He left the reception and slept a bit, and then
he decided that he had to fulfill his destiny before marrying Sybil, not
to make her suffer.

He made a list of all the people he knew, and decided to kill Lady
Clementine, an old relative. He carried out a library research, found a
good poison to use, bought it and brought it to Lady Clementine as a
medicine.

He was abroad for a while and he received the news of Lady

Clementine's death. He came back to London happily, but while was
visiting Lady Clementine's, he found the poison, and understood that
Lady Clementine died of natural causes.

So he decided to kill the Dean of Chichester sending him an explosive

clock it failed too, because the clock didn’t blow up.

Lord Arthur became very sad and upset. While he was walking on a
bridge over the Thames, he met the cheiromantist, and he decided to
kill him. So he pulled him into the river. Everybody thought that he
committed suicide.

Lord Arthur was really happy, and he could marry Sybil.
