FIRE EXIT

It is a kind of stair case which is shaded, has a lobby and the opening of it is to the out side
direction .

FIRE EXIT DOOR :


For commercial building 2 fire exit need.

• Minimum width of exit door should be 1m ❑ If the number of user is 500 then 1 exit will be
• Minimum height of exit door should be 2m. used
• Exit should not be locked. ❑ If the number of user is more than 500 then 2
• Can not use sliding and hanging door. exits will be used
• Exit door must be open towards the running ❑ If the number of user is 1000 then 4 exits will be
way used.
• Exit stair’s landing width will not less than stair
width.
• Exit door should closed itself from the fire
hazardous area.

In fire stair-

If clear width is 1m -1 sided hand rail should be


provided.
If clear width is more than 1m - Both sided
hand
rail needed.
If clear width is more than 2.2m - Hand rail is
needed in middle.

FIRE EXIT
• Exit should be always free, so that man can go through.
• Exit & exit access corridor should not used as supply work.
• If there are more exit access, exit sign will be used everywhere.
• Exit should not open in that place which will close or used for dangerous work.
• Exit should be designed in a certain distance, so that occupant can easily get stair in travelling
time.
• Corridor width-
More than 50 user- 1.1m
Less than 50 user- 0.9m
Health care building- 2.4m
Institution (more than 150 user)- 1.8m
• Clear height of corridor should be minimum 2.4m.
• The clear area from the door to stair should be minimum
0.9m.

The figure of Means of Exit must be enough compared to


user number.
