Answer: Smart grid is basically, the technology of electrical network that uses digital and other
advanced methods of information technology to manage, monitor and transport electricity form
all generation sources to meet the varying electricity demands of end users.
The concept of Smart Grid technology is quite new and most of the work of research and
investment on it is being conducted in Europe and north America. Smart grid development is
currently still tied to economical development of countries. Additionally, most smart grid
development so far has been focused in countries with highly interested in renewable energy
sources. As they are starting problems with stability of their power supply due to more
intermittent generations. For most developing countries, Renewable energy generation is not a
top priority as they are more concerned about achieving universal energy access. None of the
developing countries are focusing with that much interest in smart grid technology. Smart grid
in developing countries so for focused on more emerging economies such as China, India,
Brazil and Mexico.

Smart grids for improved grid performance in developed and developing countries.
