Scope This standard shall define the toothed washer. 2. Type Shall be the dish type toothed washer. 3. Material Shall be SK5M to SK7M (JIS G 3311). 4, Shape and dimension The shape and dimension shall be in accordance with attached table 5. Surface treatment Electrogalvanizing: MFZn5-BH, MFZn5-CH, brittleness removal treatment must be performed Zinc containing rust-proof coating: DFZn2 Do not use the zinc containing rust-proof coated part to sections where ill-effects are suspected from the separated coating film 6. Appearance There must be no breaking, significant flaw, burr, rust, or other detrimental defects. 7. Hardness Shall be 4OHRC to SOHRC. 8. Spring action After measuring the free height, pinch the washer in between steel plates, and compress by 1/3 turning with using a nut equivalent to the nominal diameter. Then, remove the pressure, and measure the free height. The measured value must be 5/6 times or more compared to before the test 9. Toughness Cut a section of toothed washer rim. Fix one end (less than 1/4 of cylinder), and pull the other end. Number of teeth are posted here only as recommended values. It is permissible that the lock washers have a tooth number slightly larger or smaller than this recommended value Remarks 41. The toothed lock washers shall not exhibit any excessive warp or hole eccentricity 2. The tooth projections at both sides shall be uniform. However, any deviation of less than half of the tooth projection at one side will be acceptable 3.
