COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A study of the Insurance Code and related laws, including the concept and function of insurance,
the nature of the insurance contract, insurable interest, special forms of insurance and
government regulation of the insurance business.

COURSE GOALS: Expected College of Law Graduate Attributes (ELGAs)

1. To help students know and understand the key concepts in Insurance Law by
requiring them to memorize legal provisions, study relevant jurisprudence,
and read various commentaries on the subject.

2. To develop the students’ critical and analytical thinking skills by requiring

them, among others, to solve hypothetical problems with the use of logical
reasoning and sound judgment.

3. To enhance the students’ written and oral communication skills.

4. To enable the students to utilize the principles that they have learned from the
subject in properly exercising their professional and ethical responsibilities.
