ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The proponents would like to thank the following individuals who have contributed to the study, the owner of
Bograt's Bentelog, Mr. Albert Valencia, for their cooperation and support in answering the proponents'
question. Ms. Jesse Ann Salvador, Ms. Shaine Maglapuz, and Mr. Ronel Bilog gave untiring support in
completing this study and grateful for the invaluable knowledge they have all impacted in the proponents. To
their families for extending financial help and moral support, and understanding during this project's
completion. And above all, to Our Almighty God for giving them strength, guidance, and blessings for, without
Him, this piece of work would not be possible.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The proponents used the Descriptive method of researched design to be applied in this study. Descriptive
research is a purposive process of data gathering, analyzing, classifying, and tabulating the data. Descriptive
research describes and interprets what is. It also involves the interpretation and analysis of the meaning or
significance of what is described. During the requirements gathering stage, the proponents conduct a personal
interview with our client to gather and collect the data about the system specification needed data for the
research. The client needed a payroll system to quickly compute the employees' monthly salary because they
still use manual payroll. Hence, sometimes they are complicated and time-consuming. The proponents also
conduct internet research to gather more data and topics related to our study—collected all the necessary data
and information for this study from unpublished theses, books, and articles from the Internet.

Waterfall Model
The proponents use the Waterfall application for System Development Process Model. The waterfall
model is easy to understand and use. It is also part of the development method that describes linear and
sequential flow. In "The Waterfall" approach, the whole process of software development is divided into
separate phases. Each phase of the waterfall model is processed and completed, need to finish the stage
before the next step with distinct goals that were never overlapping the phases.

The sequential phases in Waterfall model are the following:

Requirement Analysis. The proponents conducted an interview together with the owner of Bogart’s Bentelog
to understand the flow of their manual payroll process that will serve as a guide in developing the new system.

System Design. The proponents analyze the user requirement target and determined the hardware and software
needed to develop the system.

Implementation. The proponents created the flow chart based on the analysis and design user interface based
on the requirements of the user.

Testing. All the units developed in the implementation phase are integrated into a system after testing each
unit. Post integration, the entire system is tested for any faults and failures.

Deployment. The proponents test the program to ensure that it is error-free and fully meets the first step's
requirements. The functional and non-functional testing is done, the product is deployed in the customer
environment or released into the market.

Maintenance. Some issues come up in the client environment; fix those issues, patches are released. Also, to
enhance the product, some better versions are released. Maintenance is done to deliver these changes in the
customer environment.
