Direction: Answer briefly the following:
1. What is an outcomes-based education?
- Outcome-based education or outcomes-based education, also known as standards-based
education, is an educational theory that bases each part of an educational system around
goals. By the end of the educational experience, each student should have achieved the
goal.
- Outcome-based education is a model of education that rejects the traditional focus on what
the school provides to students, in favor of making students demonstrate that they "know
and are able to do" whatever the required outcomes are. OBE reforms emphasize setting
clear standards for observable, measurable outco mes.

2. What are its characteristics?


The change in educational perspective is called Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) which
has three (3) characteristics:
1. It is student-centered; that is, it places the students at the center of the process by focusing on
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO).
2. It is faculty-driven; that is, it encourages faculty responsibility for teaching, assessing program
outcomes and motivating participation from the students.
3. It is meaningful that is, it provides data to guide the teacher in making valid and continuing
improvement in instruction and assessment activities.

3. How do you implement or apply an outcomes-based curriculum in your lesson plan or learning
plan?
-In creating the lesson plan, I will apply the outcomes-based curriculum in such way
that copying the format of the procedure and start creating our own. In the module, there is a given
instruction on writing the competencies such as that. In the educational objectives is formulated
from the point of view of the teacher. Learning outcomes are what student supposed to
demonstrate after instruction. Learning outcomes are what students supposed to demonstrate
after instruction.
