Answers to end-of-chapter

questions
The end-of-chapter questions in the coursebook provide a range of examples of questions from past
examination papers so that students can gain experience of the types of question asked. The answers and mark
allocations are organised by chapter. They are entirely the authors’ and do not represent an official set of answers to
these questions.
In addition to the past examination questions, each set of chapter-related questions begins with one or two
more open-ended questions that are intended to provoke thought and discussion. As such, there are no marks
attached to these questions and the comments provided here are meant to extend and continue discussion about
the topics raised.
