Welcome to refuelr. Before we begin with any training, first let me
explain what refuelr is, and why you seriously need to read this
ebook, from beginning to end, take notes...take action, and rejoice
in the difference our strategy can make to your online (or offline) business.
Refuelr is the combined brain child of two successful internet
marketers, Trevor Carr & Winston Bromley.
I’m Trevor Carr. I live in the UK, and my super talented
product creation partner, Winston Bromley, lives in
Canada. Between us we have a varied set of skills, but one
common need….eyes on our pages!
You see, as internet marketers we are constantly looking
for new and innovative ways to get our website's traffic.
Quality traffic that is! Targeted. Not some pile of lame bot traffic that means nothing
other than putting the page hit count on steroids.
This goes for any kind of business. Without “traffic,” your business
is dead.
But these days, pay per click can be tricky, and incredibly
expensive. If you’re not careful you can rack up a huge PPC bill
with search engines like Google and Bing, and find yourself
frustrated at your results.
This being the case, we decided to take advantage of “Winning Winston’s” extensive
knowledge of the under-used but powerful (as you will see) social media platform and

internet marketing, along with “Traffic Trevor’s” extensive knowledge of internet &
affiliate marketing, to test some brand new strategies to see if we could come up with a
simple and FREE system that would drive hoards of hungry buyers to our offers.
The end result was refuelr. And we are delighted to bring you those results in this
book.

Section 1: The pieces
and the process
We gotta start somewhere….
As a marketer or someone who wants to make money online, our daily challenge is to find
good traffic that we can send to whatever offer we want to help others with (and benefit
financially from ourselves - we are marketers after all!)
We can do this via email newsletters (if you have a list - most don’t when starting out).
We can do this via Paid ads (Ads work well if done right, but most of the time, they just
cost time and money for little results as your audience is not targeted well enough)
Or we can use a FREE traffic source that can laser target your audiences in minutes and
fits our budgets (free is always good), especially if we are starting out.
As someone who loves to jump into new platforms and explore (I like to tinker, push, and
break things online in my spare time), when I first came upon this platform back a few
years ago, I was immediately taken to it.
It made sense. It was visual platform and visual images or videos help us connect to our
ideal customers 10x faster than text alone! It’s a visceral thing.
But I had to run some tests on it to make sure it would convert into good traffic and not be
a waste of my time or my clients (via my digital marketing agency).
So I did what any Marketer did.
I jumped in and I created a few accounts and tested out my marketing theories.

Guess what? It wasn’t how I thought it would go. I got banned on 3 of my 5 accounts over
the course of a month! Yup…. and but the funny thing was that it excited me, because now
I could see which things worked best.
So I created a few more account and kept working on them.
I pushed boundaries (as I do with the other platforms) so I knew what would work and
what didn’t. Once I started seeing tests results, I knew this platform was a winner.
Having worked out my formulas (which is what we are sharing here in REFUELR), I quickly
started to see traffic funneling to my client’s websites and mine with little effort, and we
made money from our efforts. (fist pump in the air :) )
Then I took a break…..
As an entrepreneur, I was hit with the always entertaining “Shiny Object” Syndrome (or
where we think something other than the solution we have found is better) and I jumped
to another platform. And another, then back to the 2nd platform. Musical chairs if you will.
Well, one day, I changed my tune. That day, I was having a casual call with a client who I
had placed on this social platform to “test” with, and he said to me how we was happy with
the results. I said that was great, and asked which thing was he talking about. Well, turns
out my client kept getting bookings on a specific page of his site from what we posted for
him 8 months earlier. We hadn’t touched it at all since then.
In fact, I had set it up, and moved on to another project.
See, even though I took my eye off of the platform and the post I did for this particular
client, he was still getting traffic almost daily because of what we did. In fact, it was now
being shared in a viral way!
The light bulb went off for me - This platform is not only great for free traffic, but it can
provide passive income when setup right.
I did the Happy Dance (in my chair). I thanked him, hung up and checked what we did for
him, and reviewed my formula. Since then, I have been able to do this over and over again

with my clients and my own online products. With these strategies, I can on average bring
in around 600-700+ targeted traffic users to my links on my sites. Somedays a lot more.
The platform I use successfully, for some reason or another, isn’t on everyone’s marketing
radar, which makes it ideal to use as it’s a powerful established, yet underutilized, social
network that really works. And if you follow our formula here in Refuelr, you will also have
the proverbial “unfair” advantage.
The social platform we base REFUELR around is Pinterest. And our techniques
are solid.

Excited?
You may have seen Pinterest, you may even use or have used it before, however what we
will show you is how to effectively drive very specific traffic to your offers, each and
every day, passively….. Because it works.
This is an ideal free traffic system because:
● Pinterest is Newbie friendly (we will guide you, follow our step-by-step process)
● Pinterest has passive income written all over it, due to its high click through rates
and stickability (you can “pin” items that stay up forever, and are still easy to find)
● This platform has over 100 million+ users and growing (70% women, 30% men),
with an active user base, so more people will see your “Pins”
● Each “Pin” (or posting) is valued at 82 cents in sales.
So before we begin, let’s go over the basics of Pinterest in Section 1 so you can
understand what this is all about. If you are on any other social media platform, they work
very similar in terms of functionality…. and it’s fun to do.
NOTE: Even if you have used Pinterest, please go through all of the training as this information
when used together, works everytime.
Refuelr is all about following the system. As you follow our steps, you will gain a better
understanding, however we aimed to make Refuelr work for anyone, any level.

Refuelr Top Up...the basics
Pinterest and How it Works
Pins and Boards
Pinterest is made up of ”pins”
(images, links, ideas, clippings,
information and videos) and virtual
“Boards”.
Boards are used to organize your Pins
easily. Think of these “Boards” as real
bulletin boards on your wall, that you
want to “pin” or clip a magazine
article or coupon to (in real life)..
Except this is virtual.
Pins are simply an image and a link to
posts or videos from your site, an
affiliate page, ecommerce product pages, other
people’s pins from other boards or even blog articles
that you want to “save” or “Pin” to one of your
specific boards (like MMO, Travel, Yoga, etc) to help
keep it organized. By using boards, it allows you to
showcase your items to users of this platform..
You cannot have a Pin sitting outside a Board. Each
Pin must be assigned to a Board so that you can stay
organized. . i.e. If you have a MMO product that you
pinned, you would want to place that in your MMO
Folder. Again more on exact steps later in the
training. It’s all about understanding the main terms right now.

Good news is that you can have as many pins and as many boards as you want.
Boards are special as they can be used to really target your niche (with descriptions and
links) to ideal users. Users on Pinterest use the Search function quite a lot, and if you use
the right description and keywords, you can be seen by those new users.
Also a great feature, similar to Facebook or other
platforms, is that users can “follow” each other’s
Boards. People on Pinterest can “follow” boards by
you on a one-to-one Board allow you to organize
specific NICHE targeted “pins” into a specific board,
such as “Working from Home”, “Acne”, “Fat Loss”
etc. Boards are your way to showcasing a bunch of
images basis or ALL your boards at once, as they
find your pins via the search bar or similar posts
they pinned. From my experience, most people who
follow you, will generally choose FOLLOW ALL
BOARDS, which is awesome for you, as you “pin” more offers and content (which will be
daily as you will see soon), those users will see your latest Pin notification and be
reminded of you (and most likely result in people checking out your latest posting or
“Pin”).

SAVES (used to be called Repins)
SAVES are an amazing way to have someone “share” a Pin by virtually “adding” to
someone else’s Board because they found it
interesting enough “SAVE IT” to one of their
Boards. This is a very powerful thing as you may
not have a large audience to start with, however
when your Pin is SAVED to another person’s
board, you can be seen by a much larger audience
than you could ever do on your own. For
example, let’s say you posted a Video pin on your “How to Make Money From Home”
board. Some people that are following you, see the “Pin” and choose to “SAVE” it or
“SHARE” it to their Boards. Now instead of only your audience, now you have the people
who shared it’s audience. You are leveraging other people’s followers. This is one of the
keys to Refuelr and we will go more into detail shortly on those steps. So powerful!
Group Boards
Group Boards are boards that are collaborator boards where lots of people can be found
all at once, sharing their pins and SAVEs together in on spot. This works like a Facebook
group but on Steroids. Here is why… when you are you are a group of like-minded
targeted people, and you post pins that are relevant, you dramatically increase the
chances of people clicking through your Pin to your destination link you provided, having
them share to their boards or both.
Either way, groups are a strong factor in succeeding with our system.
*NOTE: You must be approved to be part of a Group Board - but don’t worry we have that
covered below in our system to speed up the process*

Also once you Pin on your boards or Group Boards, any person who is following those
boards, will see your latest pins. This is fantastic and extra reach you did’t have to PAY for!
I see it daily on my mobile and desktop, as people post new pins, I get notices and jump on
to see them.
The power of the Pin is that it’s “staying power” is better than most other social media
platforms. This means, that the pins you make or create will be easily seen by others due
to how they are laid out in your Boards vs Facebook or Twitter, which you can get lost in
the shuffle of the timeline. Pinterest is very organized and creates a perfect layout for
featuring what you want people to see.
There are many tools you can use for Pinterest that will help increase your efficiency (and
we will cover these in our Tool section), including plugins, extensions and editing tools.
Just remember this, the demographic for Pinterests are mostly women (71%) however
money can be made from any user on Pinterest. Many are from high-income families,
business owners and people looking for inspiration on what to buy. Why not show them

what they want? ;)

Winston’s 5 Rules To Pinterest Domination

Treat Pinterest as if it were a search engine, rather than a
social media platform.
This is the one of the most important
things to keep in mind with Pinterest.
Pinterest has a very powerful search
engine built in that is used very much
by “pinners” or users of the site.
When are you are “pinning”, or
posting an image (as you will need an
image to pin), you should give it a name that is search engine optimized or easy to find, so
people can find YOUR pins and boards by using keywords, hashtags and popular trends.
This can be done by re-naming your image you want to use with keywords, rather than a
common file type names. For example, if you have an image that you are linking to a Travel
niche for CTA, instead of using the file name “DSC1000.jpg” I would recommend
something like “best-way-to-travel-to-spain-on-a-discount.jpg”.
This simple edit can make a world of difference of getting found in the search results.
Also, Pinterest is awesome at indexing your images on Google, if you do it right (which
includes a great keyword rich description as shown below). This will drive even more
“organic” traffic to your links. Just by optimizing your Pin, you can get so much traffic. Just
follow the rules laid out in refuelr, and you can get listed as well.

Pinterest is considered a “Top of Funnel” platform, which basically means before people
actually search on Google for more details to purchase, they will use Pinterest to search
around for that item.
Pinterest can also be the middle and end of funnel if you are to create Boards of your own,
showcasing one Product and all of it’s benefits inside that one board, such as a Product
Launch. You would create a board for product ACEME..
In the ACEME Board, you could give the board a great description (up to 500 words) to
help it get indexed). Inside the Board, you could the “pin” images of your product sales
page with various descriptions to detail the product. To finish off you could list extras as
“pins” in your Board to showcase the entire funnel.
So, leveraging the power of Pinterest, why not put those “Pins” (Pinterest’s terms for
images and links in your boards) from your niche, product, affiliate product or service in
front of the right people, and link back to your pages?
It works. Time and again.

On Pinterest, as marketers, we need to go deeper into
how we market to our potential customers, and think
about more about "lifestyle" and add in what is called a
"value proposition"
Pinterest is by nature, very visual. So when you’re considering how to offer your products
or services, think about your ideal prospects “ lifestyle”, and the benefits that the product
or service can bring to that user. What can this solve or provide for that user? For
example, you can sell skates on your ecom platform, instead of posting your skates Pin on
a white dull background in your “Retro Skates” Board, why not use more of this style
below that “tells” a story and may remind the potential customer about an experience
they had when they loved skating!
“Sell” your Pin with a good image.

Did you know that Pinterest still has a higher-than-usual
click through rate than almost all of
the other social media platforms.
Make sure there are “Call-To-Actions” or CTA in most
of your uploaded Pins (such as “Click the link above”,
“Find out more”, “Buy now”).
As in this example from Jamie Oliver, the call to action
is “Make it”, and it takes you right to the recipe on his
website. It could have also taken you to a local butcher
shop site to buy this meat or right to his book on
Amazon (or your affiliate link to Jamie Oliver’s book on
Amazon!!)

Always aim to add in some sort of value by not selling
every time you pin an image.
Make sure that you respect your potential audience and contribute at times, with helpful
items such as frequent questions, tips, information, videos, and articles, while also posting
links to your affiliate products.

Do not SELL on every pin
Calls to Action are important to remind people to take action however selling on every Pin
will diminish returns. If you can show value, say linking to a review page rather than the
product page, you can often sell a lot better without selling at the start of the marketing.
The ratio for Pure Sales Pins to info, educational, is 1 SALE to 4 review, info, educational
pins.
Refuelr is a long-term game type of system. You can make profits and gain traffic fairly
quickly however we are aiming to
build up passive long term streams
with this system, You need to build
up your profile as you will see below,
however it’s worth the time to do it.

How To Profit From Pinterest
Knowing what niche of client you are looking for is very important in marketing. If you
don’t know this, it doesn’t really matter what you do. Knowing your niche or sub-niche of
your Audience will go a long way so it’s best to figure a few things out such as
● Who would benefit from your product?
● Who is your ideal buyer?
As the saying goes, if everyone is your customer, then no one is your
customer.
I can guarantee you will make MUCH less in sales than if you ended up targeting a specific
group to attract on Pinterest. For example, one that I like is a niche of people who are
looking to make money online (MMO), like wordpress + plugins and are using social media
in their business. That is a great targeted audience so I make sure I look for only those
types of people when promoting a few of my MMO Boards.
If you want to be able to profit from Pinterest by selling products and services to your
potentially profitable audience, you need to spend your time connecting with those type
of people and show them how to achieve what they may be looking for. The key word is
“they”. WIIFT: What’s in it for them?
Solve their problem
If they want to make money online, show them
how they can achieve that by showing lifestyle
images to draw them in, and use good
descriptions in your Pin to seal the deal.
Lifestyle images help the visitor to “feel” the
results of what you might be looking to sell.

Tips to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Offers
● **** You must figure out your niche, become very specific and then use
pins about that niche.
● Create links that lead to quality content that can lead to sales. Always
provide value by offering or showing something that is useful,
instructional, inspiring, or helpful. Ideally, connect the link on your Pin
to an information or review page of a product you want to sell, so
people can “warm” up to the idea. You can certainly send people right
to a sales page however in my experience it’s best to spread it out.
● Write up all of your descriptions on EACH pin as if you are writing for
Search Engines. This doesn’t need to take a lot of
time, just use proper keywords when writing. It will go
a long way for you.

● Don't always sell (1 in 4 pins)
● Ideal pinning is 10-20 in a day (2-4pm & 8pm-11pm) - see our system in
Section 2
● Don’t use more than 1 hashtag… The reason is that Pinterest doesn’t
work the same as other platforms as a conversation starter. I recently
changed my stance (things change so does marketing) on this as I love
hashtags. But Pinterest’s search engine is so strong by itself. If you
need a Hashtag, use on for your Company like #InternetDojo or
#MyCompany etc
● Engage with your followers Pins by commenting or sharing their Pins.
This will raise your profile as people will notice you more often.
Engagement is key to being front of mind with your followers. You can do
this by clicking on the Pin and going to the Bottom of it to enter a Comment

If you want people to notice you more
via Pins, and more likely to follow
you, engage with questions in the
COMMENT section to show you are
paying attention! I.e. How long did it
take to setup the plugin?
● Make sure when setting up your Boards, that your board names are
engaging, with descriptions that can people identify with. Always add
in keywords that people are searching for.
● Confirm your website is tied to your Pinterest Account (you will get
better rankings) - See our SETUP section below.
● If have an Ecommerce site, us what are called Rich Pins when you can,
as they have higher engagements and attraction factor. Rich Pins
contain a lot more information such as Products listing that capture the
Users attention. You must verify your website first and have products
listed from that site, this works great.
● If you have a lots of products for one niche, try to create boards that
fit a certain need or niche and add your products or services in that
board, such as a Board exclusively on CPA marketing or Ecom.

● Give credit if you use an image from Google in your description. You
are fully responsible for images you take from the internet, so give
credit if required.

Building your Pinnable Tribe
How to increase your Following, networking, and profits
● Build up your Boards (both personal and Group):
Your goal should be to have 8 boards at minimum to before you
promote anything you are doing. This isn’t hard to do and we will show
you how to do it in our Section 2: SYSTEMS below. This can be a
combination of Group Boards and your Own. You should develop 4 of
your own to start with and re-arrange afterwards.

leveraging the bare minimum to start with and get you going.
It is a psychological thing, that we, as humans trust abundance and
when we see 8+ boards fill up the screen, then we will feel comfortable
engaging with those people. Odd but true. Use to your advantage.
Also, now if your Boards are all set up and niche specific, and if you
happen to follow my account (as lay out in the next step below) I would
most likely now follow you back, as I would see similar interests and
that would make me want to keep seeing your stuff. Like attracts Like.
● Follow users
You need to increase your followers and Pinterest requires a little
effort in order to get things going (but it won’t take long). You need to
start to follow other people and then they will follow you IF they see
you are active. So how do we do that if we are new to Pinterest?
Go to the
top of
Pinterest,
and do
searches
for your
ideal niche
with ideal
keywords
you want
to target.
Then click on those Pins you see that show up in the results and
“follow” that user.

and themes. Once I click on the Pin, I see this
information.
At the very bottom, I see the person’s
information who pinned this. They aren’t the
owner of the pin (as that is shown of the user
above the green line above) so again, I see they
would be ideal.
I click through to their account by clicking on
their Name, icon or description.
Once there I see here Profile as shown below, I
see she has a good following so I want to follow
her.

I see she is ideal as she works on blogs so I would follow her.
You are doing this as you have targeted this pin and it fits your niche.
Most likely the user who posted this, is into your Niche and therefore
ideal to “follow” so you alert them that you are in the same niche. That
person can then look at your Boards and see your boards, and make a
decision if it fits their ideal niches on Pinterest. In my experience, this
works well as a strategy as you have already taken the guess work out
for that user. You have what they like.
In order to show that your profile is worth following, people need to
see you are active, so make sure you have boards setup before you do
this step. Look at our Section 2: System for step-by-step.
Also, I personally like to follow people who are also following my ideal
Pinners. So in the example above, I would click to see this person’s
followers and follow a bunch of them, as they have been targeted and
are ideal for me.

Aim to follow Quality Pinners that are active
to very active (by the number of pins, boards
they have) and start engaging with their
boards with comments on their pins. This will
cause them to notice you and when they SAVE
your items, others usually follow.
● Find and JOIN Group Boards that are in your Niche:
You can post your Pins, images and descriptions in Group Boards to
attract who are in this ideal concentrated “fish bowl” group of people. I
call it a “fish bowl” as it is your most ideal audience that you can target.
So by using the Pinterest Search bar, or checking out pinners who are in
ideal niche groups, join the ideal niche groups (but hold off until you
see our Proven script in our System below to get you in faster!)
● Share other people's pins and they will do the same
● Another way to get noticed faster is finding content outside of the
Pinterest pins engine, using Google. You can do this by finding
someone else’s article, review, info and use it as a Pin for your content.
For example, you want to work with Making Money Online, I like to
find educational content that I can share from Google searches that are
relevant to my audience but won’t take people away from my CTA (or
call to action).
When you do this, in the description do a callback using a @username to
mention the site, which can yield more views and pins OR reach out to the

the Pin and will continue to pin other items that fit. This will help grow
relationships.
I had this happen to me where Pinners do that with my articles and I
appreciated and noticed it.
Go into a popular user board or pin,

start for my client who kept
getting leads, was an

content pages or use Wordpress Plugins to make things EASY to SAVE
from your site so people can share. Just login to Pinterest.com and look
under Tools. Install PIN IT for Chrome here:

● If you have a website, make sure your images have ALT TAGS for easy
reading by Pinterest. This means that each image has a description to
help the search engines identify it. This is done in HTML or Wordpress
allows descriptions for each posting.
● ALWAYS post images on your website and each and every blog articles to help
Pinners help get your word out. Here is a link to one of my review articles, with

article, they could SAVE and find a good image to work with (note: there are 5

● SAVE other people’s content, as people will see who SAVEs and tends to create a

● When pinners visit your site, make sure there is no disconnect from what they last
saw, like seeing a beautiful CTA then they land on a page with lots of text and no
images.
● BONUS: When doing up an image as your Pin, tie in your Logo or branded icon to

#1: Setting up PROFILES
Time to setup Pinterest or convert your profile.
Sign up for a new business account or CONVERT your existing Pinterest
account to a BUSINESS account (as you need the Business Account to do
what we need to do for Refuelr - it can be done without it but you will get
bettermarketing insight results if you have a Business account)
Start here: https://www.pinterest.com/business/create/
1) Choose Your Business Type from drop down Menu
2) Enter Contact Name
3) Enter Email address
4) Choose Password
5) Enter Business Name
6) Enter User Name (up to 15 characters long)
7) Upload Profile Image
8) Fill in the about
9) Enter you business website
10) Link up FB and Twitter
11) Deselect the Hide check box, which hides your Pinterest profile from search engines.
You want it to be visible to the search engines to increase traffic and reach, then click save
profile.
SOME NOTES:
1. Create a Business profile and fill in as much information as possible
keeping in the mind the following items to get best visibility on the
Mobile apps and desktop version of the site. Add in an Avatar as well.
2. You should post your URL in your profile. However, for your website in
profile settings, take off the http:// and www. so your URL can show
up on both Mobile and desktop as only MYDOMAIN.com This is so it

shows up without being cut off (works best with domains around 20
characters or less)
3. For your description in Profile settings, put the TOP 37 characters in
the FRONT part of the profile so you can be seen on Mobile. Test it
out by opening up your Pinterest APP on your mobile and view your
profile as others see it. Make adjustments as needed. It’s all about getting
your message out as you want people to see it.
One of my accounts and how it’s laid out.. See how you can get more info if you remove
the http:// from the URL and I edited the description to get the most bang for my buck. Do
this on your accounts as well.
4. In Profile settings, verify your site via your Profile by confirming your
site, by either uploading a piece of code to your site header or a file via
FTP. By doing this, you will be able to get Pinterest Analytics. So do it!
Just following the directions here:

our training video. NOTE: In order to get Pinterest backlinks from Google,
you should have a verified account on Pinterest.
5. In your profile, REMOVE your LOCATION portion as it takes away
from your Total number of characters you can use on your Profile page
6. Change NAME to be your NAME + Business name: i.e. Winston
Bromley @ Marketing Refuel… Better recognition as you post Pins

7. Also, if you have a website (or websites) make sure you have
GOOGLE Analytics setup on your sites that you are Pinning from (if
you have a site, this should already be done in order to see traffic flows
etc)
Again, this will only help get better results from Refuelr.

In your profile settings, once you have at
least 2 boards (ideal for top 5 boards) USE
SHOWCASE so that you can feature your
best boards at the TOP of your profile like
a REVOLUTION BANNER (very eye
catching on all devices and results in 21%

#2: Setting up attractive BOARDS
The Objective here is when you start our Refuelr process is to set up at
least 8 boards, with 4 being the bare minimum, as when people look at your
Profile it will look abundant.
● Create boards by looking at what other people use for their board
names and just take that idea and adjust it to fit your Board. The board
name can be 100 characters long but only the first 26 characters show
up when users visit your profile. Also aim for terms that are searchable
such as “Making Money Online in 2017” etc. When you are ready, click
on the RED + button on your profile page or click on BOARDS then
CREATE BOARD RED BUTTON as seen below.
● Make sure to add in a GREAT description that is keyword rich with best
keyword phrases at the start. You can use a max of 500 Characters
total, however you can offer free downloads, opt-ins to join mailing
lists, etc in this section.
● Aim to have a minimum of 8 to 10 Pins in each board… This is actually
pretty easy in the start as all you have do is use the SEARCH function at
the top of Pinterest, in the Niche you are looking for and “SAVE” 8 to 10

pins to your boards… Of course if you have affiliate links, review pages,
videos etc, you want to Pin to the boards even better!
● Once you have a few pins in a
board, a great feature of
Pinterest is the ability to add in a
COVER image that BEST
represents the board. To do this, by
edit the Board (click on the
Pencil) and choosing a PIN that
exists in that Board and
represents best as the Cover of
this themed board.)
● Perfect Profile/Board Layout
When someone lands on your profile, such as one of my accounts:
https://www.pinterest.com/winstonbromley they will see my Boards as
I have laid them out. You can layout your boards in the order you want
people to see them.

The best setup I have found is the following:
a)The first Four Boards on your profile should ideally be your Boards.
b)The second row of Four Boards should be GROUP boards that you
own or that you are in.
c) All of the other boards after that, can be a mix.
To rearrange your boards: Go to your profile (click your profile button
at the top of Pinterest), Click and drag your boards to rearrange them -
just drop a board where you want it to be. Pinterest’s code can be
finicky so if you find things are not saving as you moved items around,
contact them directly. Somedays moving the boards around works for me, and some
Pinterest messes it up. But it’s worth laying the boards out as you best want people to
see them.
● Make sure your pin boards are interesting by mixing things up when
you have promotional images that mesh well with regular eye catching
images (all related) like quotes, lifestyle shots. This will encourage more
interaction.
● Create one Video Gallery board with various testimonials, product
videos, descriptions, etc to engage users.
● If you are doing a new Product launch, create a new BOARD and use it
for your sale using 7-11 lifestyle images or testimonials, bonuses pins
etc. Add in a great description with hashtags.

#3: The Power of Pinnable
Marketing!
Tips before you Pin:
1. Before you UPLOAD your pin, rename EACH image file from its
generic name like DSC20001.jpg to your Keywords like
“seo-secrets-top-ranking-blog-articles.jpg”.
2. Ideal images are:
- Eye-catching images (http://www.pixabay.com )
- Infographics (http://www.pixabay.com )
- Original Images
- Ebook covers
- Customer photos using your product or service
- Testimonials
- Bullet lists (Yes they work great, as they are easy to share)
3. Ideal size for posts: People say Squares are ideal but the longer images
force users to scroll past your image and breaking up the monotony
and makes your eye see it easier. It stands out. Aim for LONGER pins.
No horizontal pins!
Size: 700W x 1200H or longer (Vertical is ideal)
4. 80/20 pin ratio where 20% is your own, and 80% are SAVEs

“Pinning” your Pins and others
(once you have your image and link ready)
● To pin your content, press the
RED “+ PIN” button and choose
either UPLOAD IMAGE or SAVE
FROM SITE.
a)When uploading the image, find
the image you want, upload it.
Then add in a LINK to the URL
you want to send traffic to. This is
important! Now skip to C below...
b)If you choose SAVE FROM SITE such as pulling an image from your
site, blog, ecommerce or affiliate site: Start at: Save from WEBSITE and
hit Enter > Pick image > Go to C below...
c) To FINISH OFF for either type:
Add in a Description on the Left side (BEST 50 Characters FIRST (for
MAXIMUM visual optimizations on all devices / 500 Characters total
with CTA as appropriate). Another strategy is to write this description
as if a “fan” of the pin.
d) Then choose a BOARD that you want to place this into on the
RIGHT. You now have a Pin in your Board!
● To Delete a Pin, simply go to EDIT Pin, and at the bottom Left side you
will see DELETE.
● To SAVE a Pin, just click on the
RED SAVE button at the top
RIGHT of each pin.

PINS (How To Make Them Attractive)
● Pinned Images should have engaging wording on them that makes
people want to click through. Ask questions, which are answered in
your website or blog.
● Using Click-bait titles for pinned articles works really good when
pinning content.
● Convince people of how your products or services, VIA your pins, can
help with their situations. This is where value comes in.
● By simply adding in a PRICE TAG to a Pin (with $ or your currency), the
pin will show up as for SALE! -- This makes it stand out and Pinterest
pins with prices get 34% more likes than pins with no prices.
● If possible when uploading your own Pins, edit the image that you want
to convert with, by adding in a design element like an arrow in the
bottom corner (right side) to show there is more to it.. Human nature is
to click on this to see more.
● If you have a brand or icon, add it to all of your Pinnable images that
you upload to showcase your brand for front-of-mind marketing.
● When pinning, if you are part of Group Boards (see below for the
strategies to get into them - as you need to be approved), pin to a
GROUP BOARD first then go to that Group board, and SAVE that Pin
to your board… i.e. Take your “WordpressConverter” pin and post in
the WORDPRESS LOVERS Group Board. Then go into that Board and
SAVE that Pin back to your Board on your Account (such as BEST
WORDPRESS PLUGINS - if that is your Board). This action will cause
Pinterest and the Group board to see you being active.
● Pin or SAVE “viral” pins from others ONLY to your boards.. NOT the

Group boards as you want all the traffic and effort you use in those
boards to come back to you. So if you find something fun or interesting
that you want to share, share it on your timeline. Note, this is only for
viral pins, not our regular SAVEs needs in our Refuelr strategy as listed
below.
● When pinning to group boards, pin to only 3 - 5 group boards at one
time or it will appear spammy to Pinterest. So if you have 3 of your own
pins you want to push out there, put Version 1 in 3-5 group boards,
then move on to Version 2 in 3-5 OTHER group boards. You will need
to keep a note of which boards you place the images in. I have an Excel
file I use to track my various Pins of my own.

Tried It: This is a newer option that works
great: When Pinning a product you are
promoting to make money from, after you Pin it
to the page, immediately go back into it, and
click on TRIED IT (at the top of the pin once it’s
opened in the Pin larger view. Once in TRIED
IT, give your review here. THIS one thing will
make your Pins stand out more than those that
do not have one (by +27% increase in clicks).
PLUS the TRIED section appears ABOVE the
description adding more Prime real estate to
the pin itself. It’s social proof. :)

SAVING (Getting and giving “the love” on Pinterest)
● You MUST get SAVEs so make sure your images are strong or at least
engaging! (BEST thing you can do in Pinterest other than joining Group
Boards!)
● Find TRENDING content via the Pinterest Search function (under
RECENT SEARCHES) or look in your main Pinterest or the the Groups
you are part of. If you like a piece of content in your Group, SAVE it to
one of your boards. This added value all around including to your
Pinterest ranking. NOTE: If you find something Viral in nature, do not
SAVE it in a group. Only to your Boards…. Don’t take the energy of
getting people to see your stuff.. .They would see the viral post in
your Board via their Timelines.. Not the Group Boards

GROUP BOARDS (The KEY Strategy in Refuelr)
For the Refuelr system, this is THE KEY Strategy to your Success with
Pinterest. It will make or break you. It’s important to have placed it where we
have in the documentation, because if you followed the setups above and
read through the tips, then this strategy can now come into place.
After I learned about Pins and getting them SAVED and benefitting from
sales, traffic and exposure, I still found that my best traffic came from the
groups I was in, as I had laser targeted these niche groups.
So below is a layout of what you need to do to get into the group boards as
well as what to do once you are in there.
See, by joining group boards, you can get the MOST exposure possible on
Pinterest. This is THE spot to promote. Imagine being in front of 500+ people
than just your board of 13 followers? Rather than only focusing on building
up your own boards on your profile, you can focus on marketing to those
Group Boards that you are accepted into! You will reap the rewards as I have
and my clients have. Group boards have the largest reach on Pinterest and
are favoured heavily by Pinterest.
It’s necessary to build both at the same time hence why we suggest 4-5
boards of yours at the top and 4-5 boards with Groups your in next on your
profile.
HOWEVER, here’s the rub.. You need to be approved by the Board owner in
order to join (or they can add you if they know you via Email)... But don’t
worry.. We have worked out the way to ensure you get in virtually every
time.

To Find Ideal Group Boards:
● http://pingroupie.com - makes the discovery of group boards easy
(although outdated a bit, it works - (Search by [all category] and by
SAVES/ascending).
● When on pins of other ideal followers for you, on boards or looking at
influencers, look at some user PROFILES to see which boards they are
on and join those. Again, they have done the work for you.
● Join GROUPS to see if they are worth it: Look at their SAVE count on
existing pins. This one below shows average of 90+ SAVEs which is
very good. When you a group board with 0-10 pins average, it may not
be worth the energy to be in there.

To Get Into These “INVITE-ONLY” Group Boards:
● To join a Group, you need to contact the Pinner who is the FIRST circle
photo in the image of the users of the group via Pinterest’s mail contact
form OR using their contact information listed in their description to
join the group. Email is usually best and sell them on how you would be
ideal for the group and what you can bring to the group. Request to be
added to the board, and make sure to thank them. Include your
pinterest profile URL as well as your email address that you use for
Pinterest or they can’t add you)
BONUS: I just setup a new Group Board… You are invited to join

Now, find GROUP BOARDS to join and do this to show that you are active
and help you get noticed *** make sure you have 4 boards minimum
setup!**
Join 1-2 boards a day.
STEP 1: When you find a GOOD board, FOLLOW that Group Board (press the RED
BUTTON “FOLLOW BOARD”)
STEP 2: On the BOARD page you are on, do this task for the 3-4 pins for this GROUP
board only:
Click on the one pin at a time, and comment below, follow this Pinner and then SAVE
under Boards you would like to Pin to.
STEP 3: When you are done with those 3-4 of these pin operations, then (see green arrow
on image) FOLLOW the FIRST PERSON shown on the BOARD by clicking on their icon

to join (you can always see this in their description such as here:

t-ma/ ) OR it may be as easy to just click on the MESSAGE button above their name and
send them this message. Emailing them via their WEBSITE is the BEST option as I check
my email from my website sooner than I do from Pinterest requests. Email them at the
EMAIL ADDRESS listed in the description (as some descriptions ask for this),
TO MESSAGE THEM via PINTEREST: You may need to find their name or username to
message them. Once they follow you, you can do this easily however to start you need to
find their username… Use their USERNAME in their profile URL like “salljamesexample”
below in the TO: field, it will go to them:
For this process, go up to the TOP right side of Pinterest and click on the MESSAGE ICON,
then INBOX then +NEW MESSAGE.. You will see a TO: field. Enter the username (find the
username in the URL as seen below after the pinterest.com/ so in this case
“salljamesexample”)

and find people with more than 500 followers
2) Then Look down their account and look for boards with a circle icon like this: (this is a group
board) and see if any fit your needs.
Finally, If you can’t get invited to a Group Board, then create
your own Group Boards: start inviting regular pinners into your own boards!
As you control the boards, you’ll benefit the most from being the admin and
bringing on activity. On Pinterest, active boards lead to active engagement
and SAVEs thus spreading your Pins to other boards. It’s a win-win

LEVERAGE These Group Boards:
● When pinning original pins of yours, always pin FIRST in a GROUP
board. Then take that pin, and SAVE to your own boards. Do not pin the
same pin to a lot of boards at the same time as Pinterest sees it as
“spam-like”. Aim to do 3 - 5 group boards with that specific pin in a day
and move onto a few others. I keep track of my posting in my excel
sheet.
● Pinning content (whether yours or someone else’s) from a group board
to other Boards and yours, will increase the value of the Pin of that
board, making it look better to Pinterest.
● When you post in Group Boards, the key is to get Engagement even if
it’s just you and a few friends to start with. What you should be doing is
comment, share, and engage as much as you can as Pinterest with
favour it. Every other time, when you Pin to a group board, after it
posts, it says on the screen “SAVED IN XXXXX BOARD”. Just click on
this button to see the board, and then engage in a few of the pins here

links to quality content in one
of 3 ways:
1. By using a squeeze page, with an opt-in form where the person has to
enter their email and name to receive a free PDF (a la Hookum), taken
to your main site page that you want people to land on, or to an affiliate
offer.
2. By having a Pin lead to a Blog Article (with monetized articles or ads)
or Product Page directly.
3. By having a Pin lead to directly to the Affiliate Offer.

**Refuelr:
The Daily 17 Minute System**
#1. First one to five minutes:
Pin 1-5 unique images (start with 1 or 2 if you are new)
Pin 1-5 of your own unique images a day, make sure to add in a great description (but
don't sit there for an hour writing it as it's about getting pins up quick), and use a few
choice Keywords. I have found that posting one of my own offers (article, video, affiliate
link) works great along with a few related info or educational bits from my site or others,
including Youtube videos.

The idea here is to add more Pins to your boards to populate them. ALWAYS save your
Offer, review, Sales Pins to Group Boards first, then your Board
#2. Five minutes:
SAVE 5-15 images
When you SAVE the images from other people’s pins (from your Social feed in Pinterest
or Group boards) make sure to edit the description before SAVING... What you want to do
is make sure that if it has a URL that promotes another website, make sure to delete that
URL. If it is appropriate, add in your Link for more chances of sales.
#3: Four minutes:
Comment on 10+ pins
To do this, simply go to either your timeline or your Group Boards and find a few recent
pins, and comment on them. Try to spread it out between a few boards if possible.

Sounds like a lot, but simple things like, "Awesome", "cool" etc go a long way and has two
unique effects: It shows the owner of the pin that you are liking the Pin (you are now front
of mind with them) and secondly, there is a good change that User will look at your latest
pins and could also comment. It happens a lot in Pinterest.
Comment examples you can use (simple is quickest in this system):
● Nice
● Great Pin.
● Thanks for pinning
● I will have to look into that
● Great stuff!
● Love it!
● Wow!
● Sounds interesting
● How’d that go?
● How long did that take?
As you can see it doesn’t take long to do this
#4: Last 3 mins:
Follow 10+ new users (or more):
To do this, just find users in your Group Boards (as these are your potential customers as
your group is targeted to that niche) or search using keywords and find pins & boards in
your niche, and follow those users. You get EXTRA points in marketing, if you can leave a
short and simple comment on their most recent Pin (on their profile), right after you follow
them.. If you do that, they are sure to notice you faster.
IMPORTANT: #First 30 Days of Refuelr
If you are not in any group boards, your main goal aside from setting up your
Pins and Boards (8 boards with 8-10 pins), is to join 1 or 2 boards a day.

SPY ON COMPETITION:
It’s also so easy to learn what content is being promoted or SAVED from by any of your
competitors on Pinterest.. Just got to this URL but change the domain.com to the domain
you are looking to check out… .http://pinterest.com/source/domain.com (just change the
domain.com to your domain or your competitors) Once there, you will see what content
has been pinned from your competitors’ websites and get ideas from there!
ANALYTICS/CHECK AND REPEAT
(once per week or per month):
● Pinterest Statistics (in your Business
Account) are key to your Pinterest
Strategy. REVIEW under ANALYTICS
and on your Verified Site traffic, to see
most popular pins, saves, etc. If the
statistics report a high number of
clicks, analyze if those are clicks to
your website. If they are not, this is an
indication you may be sharing other
peoples’ pins too much.

● Google Analytics: Find your best and most popular pins from a board
by going into GOOGLE.com/Analytics to > Acquisition > Social
Networks > Pinterest > and Find the most popular Pin (look for the pin
that had the best traffic) > find referrer (by clicking on the link). This
will show you if it’s one of your Pins or someone SAVING your pin. This
is a great way to see what is working best.
For an advanced strategy, once you find out who it is (by clicking on
the link, and it’s someone else) you can take that Pin, SAVE to your
Board another time as Pinterest will favour it as it’s a popular pin (and it
will now do even better exposure wise due to the increased SAVEs
from the person sharing it before you).

simple, yet the best things are.
Just repeat the process daily and follow the 17 minutes system, because it
works. It allows us to get traffic, but more importantly, money to us each
week, into our accounts.

sent traffic to lately. Set up a few pins that showcase those Products or
offers and target them, and set it and forget it!
Keep an eye on your Pinterest Insights and Google analytics and when you
see a winner of a Pin (a large amount of traffic) do more like that! It’s
showing you have done something right.

traction, start to flow traffic back to your links, and if you targeted the
right group of people, and set up a great Call to Action, you will be set
