PAT251 – MINI PROJECT (SOFTWARE)

PROJECT INSTRUCTION

1. Frame

Determine the reactions, shear diagram, and moment diagram by using STAADPRO software.
Compare the reactions, shear diagram and moment diagram from STAADPRO with manual
calculation using force method.

OR

2. Trusses
Determine the member forces and reaction at support by using STAADPRO software. Compare
the results from STAADPRO with manual calculation using force method.

Each group consists of 5 members and kindly prepare one report consists of following items:
a) Introduction: Model- Describe the model and all assumptions made to carry out the
analysis. (20 marks)
b) Result and discussion: Show, compare and discuss the results obtained from manual
calculation and STAADPRO software (60 marks)
c) Conclusion (10 marks)
d) Format (10 marks)
