1. Go to the library’s opposing viewpoints. Click this link: Opposing
View points. It should like this picture:
2. Search for your topic in the search bar--see what comes up. I used
“nanotechnology” as my topic, but you must choose from my Topics
list, which is in the green box.

● Global Warming/climate change ● Nutrition/obesity/fitness
● Human rights ● LGBTQ+ rights
● Public Education/policies/reforms ● Dangers of social media
● Homework ● Prison reform (for profit prisons,

3. Once you click on the search button after entering your topic, a topic
overview page will open, like the one below.
4. Click on the “Viewpoints” icon beneath the overview text for a list of
articles on your topic.
5. Search from the list of articles that appears.
6. Choose an article (or articles) and open it.
7. Review the blue box commentary to see if the article has the kind of
information you’re looking for. If so, read the article.
8. Once you have decided to use an article, send it to your Google Drive
for safekeeping.
9. Important: save an MLA citation of the article to your Google Drive.
● Click the “Cite” icon.
● Make sure the “MLA 8th Edition” option is chosen.
● Click “Google Drive” from the “Export To” menu.
10. Congratulations! You have successfully found and saved a vetted,
credible source and MLA citation for your research paper!
