Interview with Ms.

Leher Adhiya

Question 1. What are your views on equal chances?

Answer: In my opinion, everyone should be allowed to have equal opportunities regardless of
their caste, creed, gender, religion, and other conditions or preferences. It is vital make sure that
none of these affect a person's standing in society. These characteristics should not be used to
target, discriminate, or otherwise harass a person or group. Everyone should have equal chances
based on their abilities and merit

Question 2. Did you come across any case which is dealt or related to the topic?
Answer: People in colleges who get in through OBC or scheduled caste quota are sometimes
treated differently although now that young people are working towards being more self-aware,
these situations have hardly ever occurred around me. However, that does not negate the fact that
colleges students who get in through quotas and other minorities are treated differently.

Question 3. What are your views on social castes that are the different classes of the
society?
Answer: It is an orthodox system that has been in place for centuries. It oppresses large groups
of people and since it is essentially a rank assigned at birth there is almost no mobility through
them/no chance of upliftment. If this system does not respect people as human beings first and
recognise their rights then, I don't think it can be considered a very efficient or humane system.

Question 4: What are your views on gender pay gap?

Answer: I believe, gender pay gap should not exist at all. I don’t think that gender interferes
with a person’s ability to perform well in a particular field/subject. It puts women at an
unnecessary disadvantage. In conclusion, it is a very unfair practice and should be abolished.
