Confidential information for Kisaan Sangathan

The Sangathan leadership has promised its members that they’ll either ensure MSP a legal
right or will force the government to scrap all these farms. Now they cannot go from protests
without any of these.

They know that government is not in a mood to scrap the three laws and they also know that
a large part of the crowd is going away as the reaping season of the new crops is approaching.
They know that if they don’t reach conclusion in this meeting then the movement will
become hollow and the leadership will directly face the brunt of it.

They have heard the murmurs that the government is willing to suspend the farm laws for
some time, however these suspensions will just be a small victory for the Sangathan.
However, they are eyeing the suspension for at least 15-18 months or even more, because by
that time elections in many big state will be due and government will not take the risk of
doing any political stunt at that time. Apart from these they also want to government to
ensure in writing on PMO’s Letter Pad signed by PM himself that the MSP will not be
tampered with.

The political career of Shamit Haan is also at the stake and in case of this movement results
in failure without any success the Ongress party will dump him and he will also lose support
among the masses of his community and hence he has to secure his political interests as well.

Shamit Haan however is looking to launch a political outfit post these protests as his personal
popularity has been increased manifold in the past few weeks. He sees this as an opportunity
to ride on his popularity and venture into electoral politics. If the government gives assurance
that they are willing to accommodate them in next year’s general election as an ally and are
ready to give 5-7 seats and announces the same on stage then Shamit Haan is ready to
cooperate with the negotiations, however all this will depend on the government’s stance on
the three laws and MSPs, otherwise the personal image of Shamit Haan and the Sanghtan’s
image as well will be dented if they enter into political compromise without preserving the
interest of the farmers. Longer alliance in the forthcoming elections cannot also be ruled out
during the course of the negotiation.
