Learners read quickly to find words in the first three Whole class
10 mins To check understanding of key paragraphs of the text and circle them
vocabulary from the reading text
Check understanding by asking questions, giving
examples, using the context, drawing on the board

Reading To encourage collaboration and Divide learners into groups. Assign roles of ‘runner’ Groups
engage learners and ‘writer’. Runner reads and remembers questions
25 mins (which are written on sheets of paper around the
room), and dictates them to the writer
