the CEFR
2/ Adapting the CEFR for the Classroom Assessment of Young Learners’ Writing
This article concerns the contribution that feedback makes to valid classroom assessment of the writing
of young learners (YLs), defined here as approximately 9–13 years old. It shows that a scale of
descriptors adapted from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR; Council
of Europe, 2001) can play a central role in this assessment.
3/ Adapting CEFR for English Language Education in ASEAN, Japan and China
discuss the revised version of the Common European Framework of Reference Languages: Learning,
teaching and assessment (CEFR) [ 2018] together with the Frameworks of Reference for English
Language Education in Thailand Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan and China which are based on the CEFR.
4/ The CEFR as a national language policy in Vietnam: insights from a sociogenetic analysis
It is still not clear why the CEFR, intended for European usage, has become a ubiquitous tool for
overhauling the quality of teaching and learning English in many education contexts. In this paper, we
examine the CEFR in Vietnam in order to gain an understanding about the underwritten socio-economic
and political conditions, which induced the employment of this global language education framework.
5/ Implementing the CEFR at a Vietnamese university—General English language teachers’
perceptions
This paper reports preliminary findings regarding English language teachers’ perceptions of the top-
down implementation of the CEFR for non-English major students at a university in Vietnam

6/ Diffusion of the CEFR among Vietnamese Teachers: A Mixed Methods Investigation

This study aims to cast light on Vietnamese teachers’ perceptions and use of the CEFR as well as on their
related needs based on the diffusion of innovation model and its reinterpretation in Van den Branden.

7/ Vietnam’s National Foreign Language 2020 Project after 9 years: A difficult Stage
