Duties and Responsibilities
 Responsible for surveillance and inspection to monitor and ensure that the quality assurance
implementation is compiled to project specification, code and standard.
 Ensure all inspections are done as per Inspection and Test Plan and recorded in the form of
project check lists, Material Inspection Reports etc.
 Monitor and control incidents of non-compliance or non-conformance and propose corrective
action, investigate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
 Observes techniques and performance of welders in shop or at construction site.
 Analyzes x-ray photographs of welded joints(RTFI).
 Reports to appropriate QA/QC manager on progress and discrepancy (NCR) and propose
corrective measures.
 Ensure all welding requirements, procedures, specification, and the standard is met and
implemented.
 Witness dimensional check, piping line walk checks, reinstatement, final punch listing and
closeup works as necessary. ·
 Witness both pneumatic and hydrostatic testing conformance to ANSI / ASME and other
standards. Witness pipeline chemical cleaning and flushing. · Ensure all the post pipeline test
reinstatement and mechanical completion work is completed and accepted.
 Witness, reviewed and approved WQT, WPS, PQR, PWHT, NDT, corrosion test, piping test
package, bolt tensioning /torqueing, mechanical completion, load test, as built drawing etc.
 Review NDT report on UT, PAUT, MPI, PT, hardness, ferrite check, PMI, PWHT and

Duties and Responsibilities
 Prepares Fit-up report, Daily Welding Inspection report and Weld Summary.
 Having good Knowledge in the consumable selection and continuous monitoring of specified
welding consumables and treatment of electrodes. Check and witness preheat and inter-pass
temperature as per specification. Monitoring of NDT log updating the same day to day basis.
 Preparation of Punch list and Preparation of NDT Test Plans and request. · Identifying the weld
joints repair location, marking on the weld joints, deploys qualified welders for repair work and
carried out required NDE like RT & PT. ·
 Monitoring and maintenance of job wise and welder wise repair database & taking adequate
measures for minimizing repair percentage. Conduct welder Qualification test as per requirement
of specified WPS.
 Performing Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) in the case of variation in the
essentials variable with existing PQR, as per international standards and the additional
requirement of client.
 Carrying out the welding inspection before, during and after welding operation as per approved
test plan, relevant engineering drawing, international standard and project specification Witness
third party testing and inspection as per ITP procedures.
  Conduct daily surveillance on both site and shop. Issue recommendations for minor deficiencies
and NCR for major problems. Conduct training and provide Job Clearance Cards for the skilled
workers. Assist/ Support co inspectors in times of hectic Promotes Safety Work Practices.
