It is believed by some that governments should take the whole responsibility to

protect the government while others are of the opinion that citizens hold the
largest responsibility to prevent further disasters. In my view, both government
and citizens have a role to play in making the environment clean.
It is believed by some that governments should be wholly responsible for
environmental preservation, while others think that citizens also need to do their
part. In my view, both governments and individuals have a role to play in
protecting our planet.
Government takes the most important role to play in several ways. First of all,
government can act as a legislator, legislating law to protect the environment.
Citizens probably do not protect the environment because they know there are
no any consequences when violating rules. However, when laws are being
implemented, it can serve as a deterrent and citizens will aware of it so as not to
be punished. For example, recently, some of the countries has introduced the
ban of single-use plastic, while after the introduction of it, the air quality of
those countries has improved a lot.
Government authorities obviously must play an important role in several
aspects. Firstly, legislators can introduce laws to protect the environment. This
is effective because laws can deter people from polluting activities. For
example, some countries have introduced legislation banning single-use plastic,
and this has resulted in less plastic pollution. Secondly.
