Homomorphic Filtering
(a) Homomorphic filtering attempts to achieve simultaneous reduction of the dynamic range
of an image and coupled with an increase in sharpness (see Gonzalez and Woods [2002] for
details of this technique). A frequency domain filter used frequently for homomorphic
filtering has the form
where D(u,v) is the distance from the origin of the (centered) Fourier transform, and A < B.
