Problem: 10% of Filipino workers go abroad

Why is this a problem:

- It affects and deteriorates the confidence of economy and this will cause the willingness of more
people to leave rather than stay.
- There will be loss in manpower, such as skilled and innovative people, which can lead to loss of critical
services like healthcare, education and public services.
- Since there is a shortage of workers in the country, particularly skilled workers, the growth of
industries are slowing down.

Solution:
Increase income/ salary with full benefit package

Pro: increase chances of Filipino workers to stay and serve the country with their own stable financial
stability
Con: high possibility of inequality in opportunities in every Filipino workers because it can’t longer pay at
such a greater rate for the same number of workers so that it should undergo adjustments and layoffs to
keep within the budget that might cause increase number of unemployment rate in the country.

Assure job security for employees

Pro: Employees have a greater chance of reaching their career goals and a long-term position that keeps
them to be afraid of losing their jobs.
Con: Employees lose their ability to develop and grow. According to Bhasin (2020), workers feel
comfortable with their salary, the work demands, and with the work setting which can lead to career
stagnation.

Having a command economy

Pro: Employees will benefit the government assistance because it regulates the manufacturing
processes and determines the employees where and how much compensation are paid. With this, it will
reduce the rate of Filipinos working abroad it is not manipulated by a single company.

Con: It constrains liberty because the government has its power to rule people. According to (DePersio,
2020), Employees will have the high possibility being demotivated because they cannot choose any
careers and interests that they want which gradually decreases innovative improvements and
developments.

Consequences:

-Increase in salary and providing full benefit package will tend to increase business costs, hence, it will
increase the prices of the products. Maverick (2020) states that higher costs of goods that businesses
produce will lead to inflation.
