URINARY SYSTEM OF THE FROG

PARTS FUNCTIONS
KIDNEY Elongated, compact flattened found in the lymph spaces above the coelem
attached on either side of vertebral column
ARCHINEPHRIC DUCT Duct draining the mesonephric tubules. In males it becomes the ductus
deferens while in females it becomes vestigial
BLADDER Thin-walled bilobed distensible structure. It opens the ventral wall of cloaca
by a sphinctered aperture.
OVARY/EGGS attached to the dorsal abdominal wall, close to the kidneys
OVIDUCT  a long and much coiled glandular and ciliated oviduct
UTERUS Muscular organ of the female reproductive organ
CLOACA  a small, medium sac receiving the anus, urogenital apertures and the
opening of urinary bladder.
