How housing problems in cities and town can be solved
Today we lived in a globalized world, causing urbanization to increase in cities. Most of the
people who live in cities and even towns are facing problems related to a lack of proper housing. The
housing shortage is a sensitive issue because it affects the psychological well-being and quality of life
of city dwellers. What is the best method to reduce housing problems, then? There are two methods
that governments could consider in order to solve this problem.
The first solution is to expand the suburbs. It would provide homes for many inhabitants. Also,
creating a space where people can connect with themselves and semi-urbanized space, not to
mention that the suburbs are a wonderful place to make plans for the future. Furthermore, the
development of the suburbs will also avoid other problems within big cities such as unemployment.
Secondly, governments can renovate empty properties. In big cities and towns, it is common to see
empty buildings. Governments can transform it into modern accommodation for people who urgently
need it. Also, making the cities and towns a more comfortable place to live. A plus is that it will not
only make cities more beautiful but also preserve green areas.
I can honestly say that there are many good arguments for the renovation of empty properties. On the
other hand, the expansion of the suburbs is expensive. Moreover, it does not help the preservation of
green spaces, increasing the problem of pollution. The renovation of empty properties must be careful
and well planned to help us solve the housing problem.
