Like every rose has thorns, everyone can not be perfect.

you are not challenging yourself enough. Thus, failures play a very pivotal role in every successful
person's life and provide them the opportunity to bounce back again even in the worst
circumstances of life. In the article, Susan describes Jan Frodeno, Olympic champion, and three-
time Ironman World Champion journey to a successful career despite the obstacles that he faced
to achieve this big fate. In my perspective, failures have a paramount significance in everyone’s
life, and they give learnings that can have an enormous impact in shaping a successful career.
Therefore, I completely agree with the given notion and this essay deals with my opinion of
agreement.
To commence with, Susan Galer(2020) article has described that winning a triathlete
competition and career success have similar elements that include teamwork, fair play, passion
towards the goal, and being lion-hearted. But the most vital element above all is how to adapt to
the failures and thus, Susan has regarded failure as the key to longevity in any career. Probing
further, Susan has tried to convey a message on failures and challenges that follow after, by
considering Jan Frodeno, Olympic champion, and three-time Ironman World Champion, career’s
journey towards success. According to Frodeno, the first important disciple towards success is
the passion for learning. Passion towards attaining the goal gives strength to overcome failures
and most importantly it helps to develop new ideas that further shape into lifelong learnings. The
second most important disciple towards success is rock-solid teamwork. To reach the height of
your capabilities, teamwork plays a very significant role. It teaches you cooperation with others
and how to find a solution to downsides by becoming a helping hand to each other in the team.
Thus, Frodeno has credited his tremendous career success to teamwork. The third most
important disciple towards success is fair play. To grab a successful career, it becomes really
important that we are honest towards every step we take and treat each rule and regulation
equally. Also, fair play allows us to understand more about our mistakes. Last but not the least,
the fourth important disciple towards success is being brave. While following a challenging path,
there are several risks. So, it becomes very important to face them rather than avoiding them
even how adverse the situations become. Thus, Frodeno credits these four disciples that helped
him to overcome challenges and failures in his fruitful career.
Furthermore, Frodeno has emphasized the current challenges that are imposed due to the
COVID-19 pandemic. This ongoing pandemic has shattered the world and has brought back
everyone to basics. Many innocent have lost their lives to this pandemic. Moreover, it has also
resulted in people losing their jobs. Although having numerous achievements in his life, he still
tries to find ways to overcome this challenge and is trying new ways to practice for the upcoming
Olympics. In 2020, due to social distancing protocols, many businesses have vanished and in
sports, many major events are canceled especially the Olympics and cricket world cup. Thus,
Frodeno suggests cooperating with the situation and advises that as the businesses have started
to come on the track again, the same will go for sports.
In my opinion, challenges play a very crucial role in becoming successful. It becomes very
important that when we face any difficulty, we should face it and take it as an opportunity. After
overcoming this trouble, the next step will be the step towards success. Thus, challenges make us
strong and fill our souls with determination and courage to fight against them like a patriotic
soldier fighting for the pride of the country.
To conclude, success and failure are part and parcel of everyone’s life. It becomes our solemn
duty that we put our full efficiency and diligence to overcome challenges that we face at every
moment in our life and bounce back even we fail multiple times. Frodeno's dynamic career has
faced a lot of struggles and we should take learning from it.
