1636-37 against English colonists from Native Americans and their allies, the natives could not
stand firm against various diseases and the drastic war times and they as a result accepted shelter
from Henry Whitfield. Praying towns became one of the reasons that led up the King Philip’s
War in sense that these towns spread tensions between the people that resulted in War. John Eliot

Rebellion: happened in 1676, Pamunkey was the one who signed an agreement with a group of
people, the war was somehow a consequence of the agreement signed by Pamunkey in 1676
(March). First of all, Bacon tried to invade Berkeley to go against morals and lead colonist into a
civil war, secondly, he attacked tribes of his neighborhood to grasp more allies and supporters to
lead his rebellion activities. Indentured servants joined hands to lead the rebellion; they included
both white and black people. After the Bacon’s rebellion, the African families and ancestors
were made slaves by enforcing some so called laws. They were deprived of their true status and
not given country rights even after many years of the war ended. They called African people as
slaves from heredity. One may say that freedom and slavery were created simultaneously in the
Bacon’s Rebellion era. After the death of Bacon, his people were left without a leader who could
command orders and manage them, so the rebels failed to make their same strength afterward. It
was the point which Berkeley and an English Squadron made use of to defeat the rebels and had
their final revenge against Bacon. Stono Rebellion: also known as Cato’s Conspiracy that

be on religious sides. Those religious beliefs upraised the cause of rebellion. Georgia
strengthened watch on coastal areas that avoided the invasion to Spanish Florida. An Angolan
Jimmy, with a group of 20 slaves led a rebellion to invade the banks of Stono River. A
storekeeper was found dead in their way of invasion. The purpose of the Stono Rebellion was to
fight for the freedom and take the liberty with gathering as much forces as they could to invade
an attack. Some slaves who were not willing to take part were also forced to join the army of
rebellion. While marching through the Edisto River, white colonist attacked the band of twenty
one rebels and killed most of them; afterward they sold off the remaining who survived, to the
West Indies. Afterward, the governing body of South Carolina reduced punishment for rebels,
they strictly followed the rules regarding to fixing the black prisoners and some proper schools
were inaugurated to educate the children of imprisoned people. There was that time when there
were more black people living than the white ones. Some other regulations were also
implemented like the black slaves were not allowed to plant their own food, have their own
business set up. They however were allowed to learn and read with their full potential.
