on storylineonline.net, helps students build reading
comprehension and teaches about morals
Pete the Cat at the Beach by James Dean, is a high
interest picture book. This book is a good transition
into chapter books for children. This book supports
the skills of sounding out words which we are
currently working on in first grade. (decoding words)  north of Nacogdoches. There you
Jamberry by Bruce Degen is a book that focuses on
rhyming and is a good reinforcement for phonemic
awareness. The book is about a boy going through
different berry lands and the adventure that comes
with that. You can find this on amazon and most likely
the library.
Community Activities
Nacogdoches Library is having a free
event to make Valentine's Day cards
on February 13th at 5:30 PM. This
helps build our students literacy by
improving students reading
comprehension and helps build
