3. Intensive property of a substance doesn’t rely on the amount of matter. Examples are color, odor,
temperature, boiling point, melting point, hardness, luster and etc. While the Extensive property relies
on the amount of matter. Examples are weight, mass, volume, size, length and etc.

4. Viscosity, resistance of a fluid (liquid or gas) to a change in shape, or movement of neighbouring

portions relative to one another. Viscosity denotes opposition to flow. One of the things that make a
liquid or gas have resistance to flow or change in shape is its mass that’s why water is the 1 st in the
ranking, water can also decrease its viscosity if the temperature rises because molecules in the water
speeds up making them bounce more often with each other making the water more fluid. Whilst the gas
is the opposite, it increases its viscosity if the temperature rises it becomes thicker and more sluggish in
movement. Even though water decreases its viscosity in higher temperature it is still number one in the
rank because gas has no mass and mass can fairly affect the viscosity of a substance. And lastly the solid.
Solid is in the last in the ranking because as the meaning of viscosity state the resistance of a fluid to
change its shape being able to resist but still flow. The molecules inside the solid is compact and hard to
move making it unable to flow which means it has no viscosity.
