IMPLEMENTATION OF GENDER-SENSITIVE RESTROOM:

NECESSARY OR NOT?

I. INTRODUCTION
A. The Problem and Its Background

Nowadays different perspectives are born each day. People based thier roles and duties on arbitrary
norms but today the world is not the same anymore. Having a restroom for both males and females is
essential due it serves as boundaries and sign of repect for privacy over the opposite sex. It is included in
the necessities that both male and female should acquire. On the other hand, LGBTQIA+ exists today
with different perceptions in many things, included the restrooms and equality.

B. Introduction of the Issue

Diez, a transgender who was discriminated according to her statement to the public. This is due, she
used the restroom for girls People does not accept his reasons in using female restrooms because heis a
man with man's reproductive organ before. Due to the discrimination executed, Senators are looking
upon the issue and plan to make an action. Senators proposed another restrooms especially for in the
members of LGBTQIA+ Community but still the LGBTQIA+ wants to use any restroo they want because
they believe that they have the right to do that thing.

C. Thesis Statement

The Senate must provide additional restrooms for the LGBTQIA+ to eradicate discrimination towards
LGBTQIA+ Community.

II. DIFFERENT CLAIMS REGARDING IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL GENDER RESTROOM

A. Claim 1

Consideration to the sake of both rights, te straight male and female and the LGBTQIA+ Community
reagrding restrooms. Everything should be balance and equity is implemented.

Argument/s

Being inside a restroom with different identity and gender can cause crime. A man can easily pretend as
gay and female as lesbia to accomplish his or her intention to the victim. It os dangerous for the safety
of everyone.

B. Claim 2

Everyone hould be realistic. It is obviou that the straight male and female are uncomfortable with the
LGBTQIA+ inside the same restroom so additional restroom for LGBTQIA+ Community is necessary.
Argument/s

Looking upon everyone's sake is not too difficult to do. Without implementation of all gender restroom
could be the main reason why women and men cannot use reatrooms when they need it the most. This
is du, in being uncomfortable with girls wearing men's clothes and men's wearing dress.

C. Claim 3

Erecting or construction of all gender restroom is necessary to avoid discrimination. It is for the sake of
both man and women who has conservative perception regarding sexuality and for the behalf of
women.

Argument/s

Additional restroom for LGBTQIA+ is significant to eradicate and prevent discrimination and to provide
another restrooms. Setting boundaries can elevate the rate in prevention of the cases of violence
against bot men and women and the LGBTQIA+ Community.

D. Evidences

A 13 year old girl was raped by a man who pretend as gay iside a jeepney at Sta. Ana, Maynila. Even a
person with physical attributes of gay can also commit a crime of rape wherein a girl is the victim.

The post of Super Radyo DZBB 594 khz in Facebook, assessed that males and females disaggree in using
the same restroom with the LGBTQIA+ members.

The PNP erect a gender-sensitive room for the public especially for the LGBTQIA+ Community as support
on providing additional rratroom for LGBTQIA+ Community members.

According to surver, straight men and women wants additional comfort room for LGBTQIA+ members.

III. CONCLUSION
A. Summary of the Main Claims

The sake of the both group of stdaight male and female and the LBGTQIA+ Community must br
considered in order to provide additional all gender restrooms to avoid crime against both group.

B. Restatement of Thesis Statement

All gender restroom is necessary and should be implemented for the betterment of social relationships
of stdaight males and females with the LGBTQIA+ members.

IV. RECOMMENDATION
The author is hereby recommended the following:
1. Conducting seminrs regarding LGBTQIA+ Communify rights and staight males amd females' rights to
elevate awareness regarding it, in order to avoid discrimination.

2. Citizens must know how to act based on their gender roles and their boundariesand limitations.

3. Elevate the deep understanding of citizens regarding riles and regulations (in public places, concerning
with LGBTQIA+ involvement).
