Hunt for the perfect partner - Traditional old Way(TW) or
Matrimonial Site(MS)

It was a beautiful Sunday evening .Mr Ram had just woken up from his
noon nap. He was in his home, came for the summer intern, in his native
state. Ram, after working for four years in one of the top most
Information Technology Company, had just completed his first year MBA
program from IIM and was doing him summer intern. The reason for him
to take intern in his native state was that he had a mammoth task of
finding a partner for him and thought these two months of intern can be
used for this purpose. He had registered himself in one of the
Matrimonial site(MS) and in due course would be selecting his partner.
His dad by his close friends, relatives was searching for alliance by his
method which was followed when he got married.

Ram does not wanted, that people get to know all about this hunt. So he
preferred the MS. But his dad was in support of the fact that, one can
get good alliance when a massive hunt is done by close associate or
friends or in personal search. So again a heated argument lighted up
between the two, Ram said to his dad that in day’s time he will come up
with an analysis of the both the ways and will let his dad to select the
way which would be better. Next day Ram came with his recommendation.
Below is the analysis which he came up.

Connecting the DOTs

In traditional way the relative, close friends and parents search for the
perfect partner. It’s very difficult to find the partner as it takes some
time for making the correct alliance. In this case connecting the exact
dots takes a lot of time. In the case of the matrimonial site we just need
to sign up with the agency, that’s it rest of the thing is taken care by
them. They have a vast database from which, based on our preference, we
get the list of preferable alliance we just need to select it.

Value for time

Usually traditional way, takes large time to get a handful of preferable

alliances. First the criteria of the parents should match, then of the
connecting DOTs and then only we can think of a prospective alliance. But
in the case of the MS, just give brief details about the requirement, you
have the complete list of alliances. Some of the agencies give a
customized search engine where we can mix-match so figure out the
exact match.

Missing out the delicious dishes

The best thing of the TW is the delicious dishes we get to eat when we
visit each of the preferred alliances. They always serve you the top
quality of food, the best coffee on can have it. But in the case of MS,
this kind of changes get reduced as we had selected the preferred
alliance and we just make a name sake visit, rest of the things would have
taken care by the agency.

Varity in selection

As the TW is time consuming process, we end up with a few number of

the preferred alliance, as a result of it we have a limited number to
select from the lot. But in the case of MS, we have tons of preferred
alliance so it would be very difficult to select one.

Opportunity Cost incurred

In the case of the MS, a nominal register fee would be charged. There
are premium offers also in which just a full fetched data is to be
submitted to the agency. They will take care of select the perfect match,
validating of the background, matching the kundali and coming up with
other stuffs. In case of TW the whole process mentioned has to be done
each time. This involves lot of cost as every time they need to pay for the
services rendered.

Seeing this, Ram’s dad came up with a suggestion that both the methods
could used. And asked Ram to go ahead with his way and he will follow the
TW, in a way that the work would be completed in a much faster way.
