What connections have you discoverted between Oprah’s life and

experiences and the fictional character of Celie in The Color Purple?

the connection that I found between Oprah Winfrey and the main
character of the book, Colour Purple is that Celia and Oprah were both
molested by people nthey knew and both thought that this was the way
life is and that sexual harasment by friends and family were just a
normal thing and that everybody experienced that

What was Oprah´s reaction to reading the novel The Color Purple?
Why did it affect her so much? What major aspiration did she have
when she heard that a film was going to be made of the novel? How
did this dream come true?

Oprah really loved the book, not so really the story it was telling, but she
could place her self in the main character. This book showed her that
being raped wasn''t normal and that other people also went the same
path as she did. She would pass the book on to everyone she talked with,
from family to somedy she sad hello to in the bus. When Oprah heard
that somebody was making a movie about the book, she went totally
crazy. She'd kill someone to play in that movie, becasue she felt the
connection between her and the protagnist. She kept on trying and trying
and eventually, they accepted her of playing the character.
