TRANSFORMER SECONDARY VOLTAGE (P = 110 KV(P)
DERATING FACTOR = 1.3
PRIMARY VOLTAGE = 415 VOLT AC
PRIMARY CURRENT = 243.69 AmP

2 TRANSFORMER LOAD CAPCITY IN KVA

KVA = PRIMARY VOLTAGE X PRIMARY CURRENT

PRIMARY VOLTAGE = 415 VOLT AC

PRIMARY CURRENT = 243.69 AmP
LOAD IN KVA = 101.13 KVA

3 TRANSFORMER SIZING CAPCITY CALCULATION

TRANSFORMER UNIT RATING = TOTAL COLLECTION AREA IN Sq.M X current density in mA/Sq.M
NO OF FIELDS
TOTAL DUST COLLECTION AREA = 13839.3 Sq.M
CURRENT DENSITY IN Sq.M = 0.275 Ma
NO OF FIELDS = 4

THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM BASIC POINTS

THE 3 Phase SUPPLYS DELTA CONNECTING SYSTEM
LINE VOLTAGE = PHASE VOLTAGE = VL = VP
LINE CURRENT=√3X PHASE CURR = IL = √3IP

The three-phase syste have three coils fixed at 120° to each other; thus three
voltages, that are 120° out of phase with each other, are produced in three separate circuits (figure)
The phases are normally called red (R), yellow (Y) and blue (B) or line 1 (L1), line 2 (L2) and
line 3 (L3),
when connected in parallel, single-phase system present difficulties which do not occur with
three phase system

THREE PHASE VOLTAGE

The waveform and phaser diagram in above figure. It should be clear that if the three phase are added together the result is that
the voltage cancel each other out and VR + VY + VB =0V

SINGLE PHASE POWER

Single Phase Power = VI cos

THREE PHASE POWER

The total power dissipated in all there loads is thus the sum of the powers dissipated in its three phases or for a balanced load,
three times the power dissipated in each phase. For a balanced delta connection load:

P = 3VP X IP cos
But,
VL= VP , IL= √3IP IP= IL / √3

P = √3VL X IL cos

Delta Source - Source Current and Line Current Relationship

The delta source line currents (IRp, IYp, IBp) are related to the corresponding source currents (I RY,I YB ,IBR)
according to current law.

IRp = IRY- IRB

IYp = IRY- IYB
IBp = IRB- IYB

Assuming a balanced three-phase system with source currents defined by

IRp = Irms GREATER THAN (0)

IYp = Irms GREATER THAN (0-120)
IBp = Irms GREATER THAN (0+120)

(IRp,IYp,IBp) = Phase current in delta connection

(IRY,IYB,IBR) = Line current in delta connection
(VR,VY,VB) = Line voltage in delta connection
