Self Tapes
• Monologue – I know this monologue and play very well, and I know it’s
usually performed fast paced; however, you could play around with it
and make it your own by slowing the pace down. Leah is very inquisitive
and have shown this but slowing the piece down and cutting it in half
could really add to your portrayal. You are a very expressive actor and
this monologue really displays that strength well. The facial expressions
and movements were perfect and reflected the nature of the scene and
the character.
• Song – Great choice for a character song and it’s clear you have allowed
yourself to connect with Emma and her situation. I can’t see your legs,
but I can tell they’re very bouncy throughout the song. Try grounding
them a bit more in the song. Your monologue showed you can be
expressive, and I think you would benefit from a faster, more comedic
song. Take a look at A Summer in Ohio from The Last 5 Years as it has a
similar vibe to this and would sit comfortably within your range.
• Dance - Your dance has showed that your strength not only lies in acting
but also through expressive dance. It is clear from your performance that
you have a great knowledge of dance and technique. This dance is also a
good display of flexibility and movement.
• Presentation – The introduction is exactly what is needed at the start of a
self-tape well done. The framing of all 3 pieces was good, however I’d
recommend moving the camera up higher, so you are not forcing
yourself to look down.
• Recall – Try not bouncing around as much on your feet as it can hinder
your singing ability. You responded really well to your feedback and used
less hand movements which really improved the character.
• Drama Game - creative improv and response to the prompted question.
Try and sound more sure in your responses to the panels question.
• Legally Blonde - Try and make your improv at the beginning is as
confident as your dancing in the performance. Good display of technique
and dance ability!

Self Tapes:
➢ Monologue- I think this is a very strong piece for you, it really suits you
well and you can tell that you have researched into the monologue/
character of the play. I think its effective in this that you didn’t look at
the camera when performing and I like how you chose one spot in the
room to perform to as though you are actually speaking to the person it
works really well. There is so much dynamics in the volume and tone of
your voice which really grabs your attention well done! However don’t be
afraid to take longer pauses as this helps to grab attention and
anticipates the panel more. I really like this piece for you yet I do know
it’s a very over done piece just something to be aware of if taking it to
real auditions.
➢ Song- Good choice of song, shows of nice tone and range! You have such
a beautiful head voice just don’t be scared to really go for it as I can tell
you are holding yourself back and are scared you won’t be able to sing it,
believe in yourself a bit more and you’ll find it much easier. Great
character shown and it’s clear you understand the storyline and the
character of Emma, just be careful with over doing hand gestures
throughout the song, instead you could pick key parts in the song and
decide what gestures to do at those specific moments in the song they
might be more effective for. For this song I feel as though it would work
much better being stood very still that way you can use more facial
expressions to engage the audience.
➢ Dance- Beautiful choreography, love the way you used sharper and softer
movements depending on the beats in the music. It is very clear that you
have great knowledge and understanding of musicality. You clearly show
you can connect with a dance piece through your movements, what I
think would take it to the next level is really starting to perform with your
face. Great use of little space very lovely!
➢ Overall- You show strong aspects in all three disciplines just don’t be
afraid to step out of your comfort zone or go that extra mile. Seemed like
you’d put a lot of time and effort into your pieces.
➢ Recall- I could tell that you were nervous and scared but honestly you
have a lovely voice and have shown us that and you just need to push
yourself more now! You followed what we asked you to do which was
brilliant. You thought very on your toes when it came to improv and
showed you can follow choreography quickly in the workshop well done!

Self Tapes:
• Good camera angle in each piece. You may want to watch the lighting in
song, if possible.
• Well performed monologue and great use of dynamics in your voice.
Your character was convincing and I liked your use of hand gestures. I
know that pace is an important character trait for Leah, but try not to go
too fast; you should really take advantage of each pause. Although you
performed it lovely, I know from experience it is a very popular
monologue choice, so you may want to consider this if you’re looking
into future auditions.
• Song was a good choice and showed your vocal range. Well performed
and your head voice is beautiful! Nice character, but try not to
bounce/bend knees so much as they may come across as a nervous habit
to a panel. Try to add some variety to the way you sing “breathe” each
time to add a little variety to your performance.
• Dance showed nice character and choice of choreography told the story
well, however, you could go further with your facial expressions. You
made great use of the space and performed the dance very well, this
would be well recognised by a panel. Well done!

Live Auditions:
• I think you did a really nice performance of your song and I think you
should be really proud of yourself as I know this was a challenge. You
took on re-direction, and you had really nice character. I could see you
were still bopping, but I know trying to manage nerves as well as
redirection is really tricky. I could hear you were a little out of breath, but
I know from experience that this was due to nerves, as it happens to me
too! I want to reassure you that we know you have good breath control
from your self tapes, but were still impressed with your live audition too.
• Your picked up the choreography really fast for Legally Blonde and I could
see you weren’t relying on anyone else to help you remember it. The
choreography was beautiful, but try to go blonder with your character
and your facial expressions. Improv is key!

As a general note, you presented yourself well and came across friendly and
willing to take direction. I know us asking you to do your song was out of your
comfort zone so I think you did this well. You need to have more faith in your
voice. Well done!!!
Self Tapes:
• Monologue: This is a really strong piece, you have very good facial
expressions and you can easily change between different emotions,
which we see nicely through your tone of voice. You also have good focus
and your eyeline in consistent throughout which leads us to believe he’s
there. Be careful not to rush ahead too much and where pauses are put
in place use them and hold them out that little bit longer to keep us on
edge and drawn in.
• Song: This song suits your voice and shows off head voice nicely during
parts. You also have good characterisation throughout the piece and you
have a good understanding of this character. Watch the hand gestures as
I don’t think it’s always necessary to use them to express your emotion
and you could use facial expressions to show your emotion instead which
would show off more of your skills.
• Dance: Well done for uses the space you had to perform a beautiful
dance, the choreography is well put together and has been executed
really well. This dance shows of your choreography skills and you have
clearly put lots of thought into this piece. In future, I would recommend
tying your hair up out of your face so we can see your expressions and
also as it can be quite distracting. You have a lovely story behind this
piece, we just need to see it in your face as well, when performing this
try thinking about the story behind the dance and link an emotion you
want to show to something personal to you, so when you dance you
think of that and this may help show through this emotion even more,
overall a good piece.
• Summary: You have a really nice voice and should definitely use it more
often, pull your hair out of your face next time as in many auditions they
will want to see your face and how you express yourself when dancing.
• RECALL: This song is so well suited to your voice and you could see more
character come through during this than in your self tape, still be careful
with your movements as we want to see you and your face, so try and
limit turning and bouncing as much as it’s hard to always see your face
and can be a little distracting, perhaps practice standing completely still
and working on your face to express your emotion then add in gestures
and movement.

Self-tapes

• Monologue- Loved this monologue! Really showed you off as an actress and
what you can do in portraying such a serious and dramatic speech. You changed
up the mood quite well a few times, however this could be developed further as
this makes the piece much more interesting for the audience/ panel watching.
Also try to change the tone up a bit as well as pacing it better to show your true
character intentions, as well as trying not space everything out all the time.
However, there were aspects of your piece that were brilliant such as your
engagement and eye contact, I felt as though you were speaking to me which is
great as it shows your delivery worked.

• Singing – You have a really unique and nice tone to your voice and it really
stands out. This is a really good song choice for you as it shows a diversity of
ranges in the song, forcing you to sing quite high which might be a challenge at
times as well as singing in a lower register which is impressive, meaning you have
a large vocal range. In addition to this your diction and support on notes was
from what I could tell was greatly balanced all the way through which was really
good to see. Your acting through song was also impressive but make sure to try
and stay rooted to the spot in a self tape because the acting should all come from
your facial expressions and body language ultimately. In addition to this, do some
vocal warm-ups before you sing as it will help with how long you can hold notes
etc. Overall this was a great choice for you and you should include it in your
audition rep next year as a possible option.

• Dance – Your choreography showed a lot of emotion and matched really well
with the song, as it’s so thrilling yet sad in moments and you presented this
clearly all the way through with your movements, but also through your
expressions, engagement with the audience, and your body language. In contrast
to this I feel like you could show more however in terms of your character and
why you chose this piece to do out of many choices that were available to you.
Was it because of a personal experience related to this song or something else?
In addition to this I feel you’re an amazing dancer and I know it’s difficult to make
full use of the space limited to you, but next time try and challenge yourself and
go for it more in terms of movements but also slickness and pace.

• Presentation – Your presentation was professional all the way through the
video and you showed a lot of urgency and enthusiasm when speaking before
performing which shows you’re happy to be here, however make sure your
project at all times so the panel can most certainly hear you.
